A loving spirit, and a song that I still sing/think of when I toast, or lose someone on the path of this life.

We had a singing memorial for him last weekend at the Arizona festival, where I first met him. I absolutely cried my eyes out. He would not have wanted me to, he would have wanted me to sing his music loud and proud. But I still miss him so. I missed Michigan this passed Labor day, first time since 2004 but plan on being there this year. I hope seeing the Jewel stage will help my heart heal. I hope I get to see and hug Lady Paula as well.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival, just south east of Grand Blanc, Michigan in an area called Holly.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival just isn't the same without him.

lonewolf9390 I so agree. No Faires are the same without him. I met Owain before his first Arizona festival performance in 2004 and I traveled every year on Labor Day weekend to Michigan to see him until the year before his passing. I also had the pleasure of playing percussion for him, informally, at a couple of performances in pubs and bistros in AZ. Frankly, so much has not been the same without him. But I'm very lucky to have met Owain.

Yes sir, it is. End of August through October. Unfortunately, the wonderful bard in the video, the great Owain Phyfe, passed away on September 5th, 2012. He was a fantastic person, a wonderful soul and a wonderful friend. If you go through my youtube page, you'll find much more of his music. He's gone from this earth but will live on forever in the hearts of many...and here on youtube for the many who didn't have the chance to see him.

Do you remember this particular performance well?

I keep coming back to this video because I was in it, and I believe I held the camera. I frequent the Holly ren fest, and vividly remember somebody asking my cousin and I to hold the camera because we had front row seats at that performance. I was the guy who yelled "No you're not!" at the Spartacus part. My singing voice is terrible, but I was around 15 when this was filmed.
