Because of his public image as "that funny guy from bigbang" i'd always assumed he was more invested in things other than music. Especially the problematic stuff, thanks (not) to the group's reputation of being involved in crimes more often than not. But when i really got to know him, he shattered all of my preconceptions. I was shocked by how committed he was to music. I never thought of him as more than a guy who just sang well, but there he is, writing lyrics and producing a whole ass album (and high-quality too). And more than anything he looked like the happiest human being on stage, and i love, LOVE that passion he has. And he was capable of singing a far wider range of genres than i thought, and not just the power rock-ish ones like fantastic baby. I have really specific preferences on the genres and vocal tones i listen to, so i didn't think dae's voice appealed to me (plus the japanese language barrier), but the more i listened to his voice the more i got to love it. He really should've released more songs in korea. I see that unrevealed potential in him. (Not saying he isn't successful, it's just that what the korean audience generally likes and what the japanese people like are different, he's never had a proper chance to get recognition from that side of the music industry apart from trot.) And i'm not lying when i say i've never seen anyone more down to earth than him. He's hardworking and persevering, and what i know for sure is studying at his age right now isn't easy, yet he's never stopped learning. Everyone in bigbang has been through a lot, yes, but i can't imagine how rough dae must've had it all those years, and yet he still wants to keep going, keep doing what he loves not for anybody else but himself. And i'm here complaining about the most insignificant things ever. I really admire the maturity and resilience he has, it's something i should definitely learn from him. I've watched most of the clips in this video and many more but rewatching them and hearing him sing his heart out made me love him even more. I can't believe myself actually. I didn't expect i'd fall this hard... oh well. In conclusion i love him, i love what he does and hope he gets to do that for a long time.

What you said is true. Especially his Japanese songs, I really liked it and have been repeating his songs on spotify eversince. (I only listened to some of Japanese songs and most are because it is Yaosobi and ost from the anime, but most Japanese songs really weren't my type. His Japanese songs are the songs I've enjoyed listening without getting bored. I think its also because I love ballad songs..)

I'm not rly into kpop much, and was not a vip, but i loove TOP for a long time. Then somehow i started to listen and consume properly and gained new level of respect to all the members. Especially Daesung. I can say that from their predebut show, He is the best newest addition. His voice is another level, his charisma and kind personality hooked me hard. I love guys like him. His hard work too. And i genuinely think he is unconventionally attractive. He could be YG's Heechul but because i can genuinely see him in manyyy variety. But alas, i'm happy w how he is now. All his singles are my faves. And even tho he doesnt use social media/sns, i'm happy tyat he updates thru YT. Him and TOP are my ult i just cant decide!!!

Yes, I've been binge watching Dae's Japan solo tours ( 2013, 2014, 2017) recently. I just coudn't get enough of him. Japan really loves Dae, him staging dome tour, sold out at that, proves how big of an artist Dae is there.

Last time I saw a vip comment about asking Daesung having less lines in every Bigbang songs.... But I think every member never let themselves overpowered by other member even they have least part, like in Fantastic Baby, Daesung only sang the chorus part, but it is the climax of that song... And with Seungri he may have least part but he gives the song more drama.. there is no reason not to love every member of this group... I am ot5 but I am sure I will enjoy their solo comebacks while waiting for their maknae... just one of the kings of kpop, underrated? yes, but only because of the newer and younger fake kpop stans who just jump on hype trains of the more popular idols and overhype them, only because of their popularity because they just want attention, while not even caring about kpop or any idols. they love to talk about the "best" kpop idols, while they dont even know a single 2nd gen idol, who are still unsurpassed by any 3rd gen till now and the 3rd gen idols know that too, all real kpop stans know that too, only the fake stans cant handle that since they only care about popularity and you can see it in their mvs all day too, all only begging for likes and coming up with some yt records that dont even mean much in kpop. till now the only one being mentioned in south korea when it comes to yt views, is psy, no one else.

Daesung in Korean means Success. His father named him Daesung so he could spread Gods word thru music, at least that was his plan. Daesung did this in a very different way. His voice became a blanket of happiness for Korean people when he released music. Daesung has the strange ability to make you smile no matter how hard a time you have. It’s easiest to see when he is in variety shows because he’s always smiling and making funny remarks but you can also feel warmth even in his singing and the way he talks. Another person who I see can make people do this is Suhyun of AKMU. If you see their performances you always see people smiling in the crowd. There’s many amazing singers but not many have this strange ability. The fact that you have one in a group like Big Bang was Gods Work at hand.
