Thank you for this episode. I found it very informative and appreciate your candor in this discussion. I would love included links to the books that Mr. Fuentes has written. Seems like a very knowledgeable guy. As for some of the political comments, though expected of course, I think its hugely valuable to be critical of a government regardless of how well its doing. It is very interesting to see from one view that Bukele is doing wonders for the people that live there. Love it, yes! On the other hand some historical trends seem disturbing when the light is shined on them. I don't know much, but I am learning and I found this video very informative. Looking forward to more! 🔔rung!

Hard watching Graham Elwood run a full time Salvadorian crypto-grift. Such a likable guy coming out the gates.

I love what Bukele is doing in El Salvador. It’s easy for us to criticize but the security he’s brought to his country is priceless. They sacrificed their freedoms to achieve it but how free were they anyway when criminals and terrorists ruled the streets before

Wait until you and others learn that Cuba has even better crime fighting stats.

@jackfromm Id like you to live under Latino authoritarianism and THEN tell me how you like it. When macho culture votes, its often not acquainted with good political data, good literature, films, poetry or progressive culture. Machístas vote on a male-preferred candidate for how "manly" he seems: how his crude, rude, bossy and violent style presents itself, on either side of our US border. Greetings Mitch. Glad to see that fool Philip Muldari not beside you. I listened to him for six years interview blacks, Chicanos, Native Americans and Asians, when one day I heard him utter "When I look at someone I don't see their color." I was floored!! Fact.

It's easy to encounter complaints about Castro's early 80's "marieltos" shipment who weren't all gangsters, when the US sent a choice slice of Mara men to El Salvador and look at the effect: a government grovelling but "heroic."

More than 80 percent of the people voted for Bukele, thats democracy, enough said; the people have spoken, stop the hating, stop the whining.

Fortunate fellow, like so many others you would find a welcome home in Mr. Bukele's diplomatic corps, and don't forget a possible position with the USA. Just friendly advice.

Yes, this gentleman has some historical information to educate and much appreciated, However, during the interview he is definitely alluding to President Bukele as following trends that past Dictators have used to remain in power. I do think that’s barking up the wrong tree. The people apparently would want to keep in as their President forever, and he’s establishing a precedent for other Countries as well. El Salvador has experienced some of the worse VIOLENCE and TERROR for DECADES !!!!!!!! If one must modify a Constitution to end Genocide and Corruption, so be it. Bukele is NOT a Dictator and as you’ve mentioned, the People have spoken…..

El Salvador under Bukele is becoming little more than a right wing police state that is more and more relient on the largess of Salvadoran remittances from the US than any economic policy Bukele the little bitcoin believer has produced. Its all a show!

Noooo, this man is oposite to Bukele, so sad, this is the people that prefer the murders than change their mind.. Bukele is the saviour of El Salvador, 97% support him, he is clear opositor so don’t expect that he will be talking good about our great Bukele.
