There's one thing I'd like everyone to think about: The US government was complicit in these mass crimes. The perpetrators learned their criminal tactics in US schools. The US government sent military aid to the governments committing these crimes. There is, to this day, continuity between today's US government and the government that aided and abetted these atrocities is maintained. The US never had a revolution or regime change that eliminated the institutions and people who participated in and protected the perpetrators of these crimes. The agencies that did this are still up today.

The term for what you’re describing is “proxy war“. Many conflicts in the second half of the 20th century were really about the USA and the Soviet Union trying to prop up and establish governments in other countries that would benefit their own political goals. Since both sides had nuclear weapons, these two super powers going head-to-head could easily result in another Hiroshima or Nagasaki, so the proxy wars were essentially a way to exert a sphere of influence without worrying about total annihilation. Unfortunately, this was all happening when many former European colonies were still struggling to find their own identity and in some cases were still fighting for independence, so the whole thing really just degenerated into a violent and long-lasting mess.

Lots and lots of pro9aganda being fed to everyone in the west from the moment they are born keeps us good little worker drones, mindlessly praising capitalism, and idolizing selfish rich people who want nothing more than to work us to the bone to squeeze every last drop of profit out.

Unfortunately in the Philippines, the former dictatorial regime that also caused unspoken massacres back in the 70's and 80's had been brought back into the country's government.

America has done this in so many countries, Russia does something in the name of "national security". The world: "war crimes, trial them!". Double standards on another level, honestly it's like a bully getting his own medicine and than screaming "he's the bully" to anyone that stands up for themselves with a surprised pikachu face.
@imagonnasah83192 жыл бұрын
Are you actually defending Russia's actions WHILE admitting that it's basically deplorable? Just because another 'superpower' country has done something of the same deplorable nature? Hard to believe you can't see the double standards in that statement as well. Both actions are sh*tty, at least acknowledge it even if you don't give a damn what the actual victims have to suffer through
@linaszukaitis8222 жыл бұрын
@@imagonnasah8319 At least you had enough brain power to phrase it as a question so I'll answer it. I'm illuminating the hypocrisy and double standards of USA frolicking around the world doing all sorts of brutal things (Guantanamo bay) just to set up puppet states, but god forbid any other state does that, that's it, game over. That state could be Russia, Kosovo, Iraq, more than half Latin american countries. Yet I'm somehow defending Russia? So perhaps now you can explain Wtf are you talking about as it seems we're talking 2 different topics, different conversations- it's like we're talking apples and oranges. Edit: Please give me an example of when these type of double standards produced positive change? From what I gather it always ends in conflict and brutality.

The only Conspiracy Theory I believe in: Joe Strummer wrote “Radio Clash” with Radio Venceremos in mind (the same year they started broadcasting) but were made to change it. Strummer was very much interested in Central American Geopolitics having released “Sandinista” the year prior. The original version of “Radio Clash” had the words “This is Radio Clash resuming all transmissions, beaming from the mountain tops, using aural ammunition”. The album and single release versions were changed, and the song title also changed to “This Is Radio Clash” (look it up).

And one would think that americans would know more of these kinds of stories, and the ones that took place throughout ALL of latin america in the 70s, but their government, in its ever silencing iron fist, does not let history run freely

Communism (cah-mew-niz-um), noun Actual definition: A socio-political and economic system characterized by the public ownership of all property and industry, as opposed to private ownership. American definition: Literally anything that political conservatives deem threatening to their political and economic interests, even if those interests rest on a foundation of oppression and exploitation.
@joshbradshawskater2 жыл бұрын
There is absolutely no nuance in American politics, anything with a slight socialist history or leaning marks you as hardcore communist. its crazy no room for a system similar to the Scandinavian model who's countries top the list for happiest countries in the world. any thing that's slightly left, you may as well just scream out the communist manifesto because morons have no sense of scale and perspective.
