Just came back from Broadway! Brits in the museums and tourist office were thankful to have us and praised those American artists that settled here in 1900’s. I quoted from Evans and we had a good laugh. There is so much more to this town than robin shares. Tower and its history wonderful. The furniture factory was owned by Steelcase of GR Michigan before it closed down. It was nov 6 and we had 3 glorious days of warmth and sunshine. Great hospitality and food and holiday cheer everywhere. Well done Robin! You need to get back there as the tourist office was not aware of your tours.

Yesterday my parents and I went to & on the Gloucester Warwickshire Steam Railway. Our first time on that.

From what I understood Broadway tower was actually built on the site of an old Beacon (signal fire), another being on the Malvern Hills. I used to live in Snowshill and know the area very well. Broadway Tower is an ideal spot for Beacon with the view it has.

I can't believe you were ejected from the Lygon Arms. Their loss! I stayed there for two nights in the 1990s - in the "Oliver Cromwell suite," which had a secret passageway in the rear of the sitting room so that he could escape if needed. Needless to say, it was the most memorable hotel room I've ever had the pleasure of staying in.

We hiked into Broadway from Chipping Camden in pouring rain. It was full of wealthy tourists and had stopped raining. Everyone we met laughed at us! That was our welcome to our first day of walking the Cotswold Way. We slept in a tent. But that was the last rainfall in the week. We made it to Bath. Broadway was not the best:(
