Still comes with a technicality though, in that it records the og summoner's name with an icon. While true, you can disable it in the settings if you feel uncomfortable with it for some reason, it's still there. So you can distinguish og run HoF units and same-unit-from-HoF-but-actually-yoinked-from-Binding-Worlds

I'm a day 1 player and still to this day, I regret getting rid of my 1* and 2* units 😭 One of my rarest units to me is probably my day 1 Takumi I summoned. While not necessarily rare, he's just rare to me because I must've summoned before doing anything story related because if I sort my units by time obtained it says my first unit is Anna, then Takumi and then Alfonse and Sharena so basically I never want to merge him or fodder him 😂 (also, he was busted on day 1)

Even though you can't have them like that anymore, you can encounter the 2 star Askr trio in Voting Gauntlets. When I don't have a bonus unit for a round, I simply use a level one 4 star Silvia to dance the friend units and I've seen the Askr trio at lower rarities while leading with her. Using a 1-2 star unit of your own makes them more likely to show up. Alfonse and Anna are common at 2 stars, but Sharena is incredibly rare and I've seen her at that rarity only twice. It's cool that you can still see what they look like as long as those veteran players stay active.

Thanks for the background lore! I wasn't able to play the game until about 2 years in because my phone was half a generation too old, and I'm sure I made a lot of beginner mistakes (like not picking Brave Veronica as my freebie unit, how dare I XD) and it's always so interesting to learn about how things were before any updates and changes. All the quirks and annoyances I missed, haha.

CC was still something that was valued back then, so don't kick yourself about it too hard as even back then I'm pretty sure he and Winter Tharja were the only sources still when they did that initially and a winter tharja was harder to get then a takumi so he was the better fodder option.

Just checked my barracks and I still have the two star Draug as well as 9 other one star units. Unfortunately I made one star Subaki and Sophia into manuals cause I would have liked to build them with full kits if I didn't.

I'm a day 1 player and it was kind of bittersweet for me when they gave us the 4* Takumi. He's my favorite FE character and I remember being so desperate to get him that I spent money on the first L!Ike banner since he was there :) I was so salty when they gave us the 4* because it meant that I paid for nothing. I managed to get him +10 in the second rotation of the weekly revivals, where I got 5 copies within 110 orbs. I still love him

I had the Askr trio at their launch star rating for a very long time but wound up biting the bullet and 5 staring them for the sake of my sanity on some of those orb quests that require you to kill specific level 40 enemies as it was just not feasible with them at 2 stars after a while, at least as far as I was concerned and as for the Takumi I was playing when they first gave him out but I think I fed his CC to my Merric back then. Also, this video reminded me of a rare unit sighting you could get that you didn't mention, that being during Tempest Trials there was a period of time, spanning about 2-3 months if I remember right, where you could encounter enemy Zelgius's without a weapon, I've got a screen shot of one kicking around somewhere as I know I ran into it at least twice if not a few more times. I also do still have not claimed some of the 2 star units you can get and have several 1 and 2 stars in my reserves still including the 2-star Draug, 2 2-star Narcians and 2 2-star F Robins and the 2 star Raigh, Virion, and Matthew they give you when you first start playing and I only have them because I recognized early on that summoning only goes as low as 3 stars and there wasn't a normal way to get most units in any rarity lower than that and that that made them special in a way.

I remember the corrin google play cards, I bought so many cuss it was in a time when I had to physically buy cards to get the orbs, I don’t remember ever getting corrin like that tho. I did also manage to get the +9 masked Marth and had until the grail system was put in, she was the first grail unit I +10 and even built her up but by then she was just to power crept to use effectively.

Yeah I have my +8 Masked Marth from all the events and 2 more from the Grail Shop. She’s +10 with her current cost at 200 grails. She’s the only “rare” unit that I still have. She’s max-invest and still puts in work! I think I also got 4* F!Robin +7 lol. I merged her as a 4* unit because I didn’t know better and 20k feathers was super expensive then.

I do find it funny how there are 3 groups of heroes in the regular pool that don't appear in PvE for different reasons Dancers aren't in the pool because they make things janky Brave Heroes don't appear probably cause they are beloved chosen heroes The third pool is Fallen Edelgard, because it's Fedelgard.

Think it's also worth mentioning how Binding Worlds also lets you recruit any Book 4 or prior Hero with blue stars even if they are a grail unit. Considering how hard it is to fish for a specific unit, I'd say they can be considered pretty rare too lol

I still have my four star Takumi. And I remember Larum, and pulled her before her rarity decreased. For the longest time, on top of what you said, she took forever to be on a skills focus banner. Did also end up on an hof. Duo Ephriam I also got early, but didn't use him much back in the day.

My rarest Unit is my Black Knight, I had the very first tempest trial reward BK, the very first TT if I recall correctly. The thing is, by that time there was no such thing as Hero grails, so the most you could merge your BK was +1, however, there was this 5-10 dls support pack that had like 10 orbs and a single BK, since it was my fav unit and u had some money, so I got it, making my BK +2, by that time a +2 BK was a rare sight.

I have my Masked Marth at +6 currently. I didn't use any grails. I think I missed a few events since I did stop playing for a few months a while back. But I remember getting so excited for Tempest Trials on several events only to see she was a reward AGAIN! XD I don't care as much now though. It's my only antique left.

it's always wild to think 1 and 2 star units exist, i imagine there's some sort of spending psychology involved with having the minimum summon be the bronze tier rarity instead of rock bottom, but i'm still surprised 1 & 2 stars have been all but dropped, like i'd think the three heroes quests would still sue them or something.

I started with the Duo! Ephraim hero fest right around year 4. I had no clue that he wasn´t that good anymmore but still pulled for him and got him to +3. Now im patientaly waiting to get him to +10 and just use him for Arena assault and pve :D

The only 2 star hero I still have is the Virion I got on the first day of playing. About the rearmed heroes. I hate that they don't bring them to the normal summoning pool, I summoned like crazy on Lif's banner and couldn't get him so I'm still stuck with Binding Blade for my Roy. The best part about this is that he's the only rearmed unit I don't have besides the newly added Tana

so I think the rarest would be like 1 star heroes since u know once u dont have them. u cant get them again. grails can be the rarest if u already summon lets say aversa 20 times lol. third takumi since I never seen regular takumi for a very very long time. legendary units cause u only really get them in legendary banners. so yea anyways if there is something I didnt add on the list feel free to do so

Something that might be cool but would almost certainly not be worth the effort to organize could be to hold a survey to see how many people have summoned/obtained different units and find out who the rarest units are across the playerbase. It would take several hundred people to mark several hundred units, so it’s probably never going to happen, but the results of something like that might be intriguing

Yes but as others stated, the original summoner’s name is in the log, and also you can only get units before version 5.0. So the only way to get a forma Y!Larachel is through hall of forms.
