Back in the early days of the revival, the ZB method seemed like the future. A 1 look last layer every time was a dream for so many people, and this seemed like a practical way to do it. So why did it fail?

Hi Cubing Historian, I enjoy your videos a lot, including this "A History of the ZB Method". Would it be an idea to make a video about the History of CFOP? It should go back to 1981! And I can tell you some stories about of what happened in the Netherlands during that time.
@isamiwind4382 жыл бұрын
Hello, I've been curious recently about the old days of cubing. In particular I am interested in algorithms. I know that algorithms can be easily made with commutators but most algorithms for methods like CFOP, CFCE, etc weren't probably based on commutators. How were they made? Persistence with trial and error or were there better known ways to make the algorithms more efficiently? Also how much were they tried to be optimized more for speed? Like to make the same algorithm but with less moves or easier to execute moves. These stuff are nearly trivial with computers but back then it probably took a lot more effort. Could you please tell me anything about this? I did not find anything about this in the internet. Thanks.
@auradr2776 Жыл бұрын
@@isamiwind438at first it was just trial nd error, thus algs werent as optimised, but then cube explorer and similar apps were developed that helped make better algs

Are you trying to tell me that Chris Tran knows full ZBLL, ZBLS, TSLE, TTLL, PLL, OLL, and probably several other alg sets?! On top of the fact that he literally invented a usable speedsolving method (ZZ-CT) with incredible statistics, and uploads videos on how to improve every day cubing things?! This guy is like the Christopher Lee of cubing.

Could you please help, after watching your video I was interested in trying (and maybe even succeeding) to learn the ZB method. But when I looked it up I saw that nobody had a website with all the algorithms on it. Do you know of a website that does have all the algorithms, if so could you please tell me the URL or link to the website. It would help me out a lot thanks.
