Finally catching up to my anituber stuff. I do agree Yakitate could have been so much more, but I still love it nonetheless I'm glad it was at the beginning so I can take the hurt right away and hopefully heal with the rest of the log haha. I started picking up Twin Spica because of you and Prom G (if you end up unhauling, which I don't think you will, hmu for vol 11 and 12 LOL). I took a break from reading another series earlier this year to finally read Skip and Loafer since I already had 5 volumes. Easily one of my favorite slice of life mangas I've ever read. I've never read a series where I've genuinely loved all the characters and wanted to see all their stories.

For sure. Usually for my reading logs, I do chapters with sections like big series, new series, digital, etc. but this time I ended up jumping around so much that it didn’t make sense to do Chapters. Hopefully next time 🤞

It's pretty hard when a series you're enjoying can derail like that. The more manga I read, the more disappointing a lot of series become, but I think it's a case of just moving on. Try another and not think too much about it 😅 Finally got Inside Mari volume 9, and I think I need to re read the series after finishing the final volume. Also, I read the first two volumes of Sensei's pious lie. I'm cautiously looking forward to the rest!

Twin Spica isn’t one I’ve heard of before! I didn’t continue Daughter of the Emperor either though I heard weird stuff about later on so I quit early. Coffee Moon!!!! SO glad you spoke highly of it because I enjoyed it too! MISS MIYAZEN!! YESSSSSS!! Masterful Cat!! I loved volume one!!! Read it on New Year’s!! I have been super curious Phantom of the Idol so I might actually check it out after hearing you share! Good to hear about Ya Boy Kongming!! I shall stick with the anime then! So many great reads!!

Had some rough spots huh lol. Really like that you read digitally too (humble bundle ftw) as it expands what you can talk about. If you want another digital only title to check out, see "Medalist". Fantastic sports series about an unsuccessful ice skater who mentors a younger girl in her dream of being an Olympic skater. Really fantastic art and passionate characters.

Yakitate was on my Tbr for this year, I’ll change my expectations for the latter half of the series. Colorless felt so empty to me when I read it that I thought I had missed something! I’m currently reading Yona for the read along and absolutely loving the series.

Yes Yona! I loved that first volume too. And yeah just keep an open mind with Yakitate and have fun with it. It just got to be such a chore that I wanted it to be over.

I really enjoyed the first half of Twin Spica but the second half is where it really shines. I ended up liking Skygrazer a bit more than you but yeah real weird!
