I helped a neighbor several years ago install ground to vertical support braces on a RV port like yours Tim. They were buried into the ground then angled 45 degrees to all 6/8 upright posts about 6 feet high. It has survived several hurricane storms in SC.

If you will dump a half a gallon of laundry detergent in the water I promise they will keep that dust down and help the dirt to pack we always use it on our go kart track if your tank is full you about a half gallon of laundry curtain of any kind
