I enjoy the company when solo slooping. But it would be nice for the people that have the feature enabled to be able to reskin the rats to crabs or other scuttlers, plus it's free money for Rare :p

The Hungering deep was one of my favorite events in this game, it introduced us to a very likeable character, Merrick, who a good number of us were glad to see back with the hunter's call. This npc is the sole reason my group spent hours patrolling the area and cargo running to save golden sands, not for the outpost or because "good/evil", just Merrick. I hope this adventure is a blast, but if not, well, it doesn't matter. We'll run it as many times as needed, that's our guy you have there.

The PR agency I work for does a large majority of the strategic planning for SoT’s promotional materials (Microsoft is a major client). I’ve become friends with a project manager and an earned media specialist assigned to Sea of Thieves. They told me they’re adding a new Sea of Thieves billing code for the 2023 SoW, which means Rare’s internal Comms team wants to promote something divergent enough from standard update promotions to warrant an entirely new SoW. Hopefully that means promoting an animated series! In all likelihood though, it has something to do with merchandising. But one can always hope!

I love how the newer trailers are more like cutscenes rather than trailers and it just adds so much character and extra lore that is just so *Rare* in other games. I mean like sure older trailers were kind of cutscenes but they had no real relevance to the story. This one shows conflict between characters, personality traits, stakes and humour whereas, for instance, the cursed sails trailer wasn't notable. Just some skeletons on a ship putting up a banner or something.

it might just be me there was something about the way duke looked and delivered his line that make it feel like he's starting to see the matrix, like he looked so down as if he knew that they (the players) were going to win because that is how the scrip goses and from all his loses of the bilge rats, davy jones and soon to be this its like knows that the players are not going to lose, not because they are smart (hell no) or even strong as you can be one blundered and hit-reg is trash. But more because he now sees they have infinite lives to keep trying and a power beyond this world (Rare) has already scripted the outcome before it even began. like go back and watch the 1st trailer and hear how confident he is and act to now (what is only a few hours later in game time) something drastically changed.

This whole event is proof positive that Rare either actively does not care or actually likes the fact that their game is swarming with griefers, and thinks its funny that some gamers have limited time that routinely gets wasted when we make the mistake of booting up. Add this to the ONSLAUGHT of FOMO they are using to finance their game and try and coerce people back in. This game had such promise in the early days Rare, and you all have tripled down on every aspect that makes it unplayable.

Sea of thieves DEV team if you are reading this we need more love for the hunters call. More fish, rare storm event where you fight a giant sea serpent and more medium creatures to hunt like sharks and whales, but these spawn randomly like shipwrecks and you need to harpoon them so they don't get away.
