you do realize outside the super random unreliable proc chance of T2 8 piece that the 2.5 set is actually more dps, right? just asking since you start off with "it's just not very good". Also when you do the Barb vs Ash comparison i think you also need to factor in that the Agi + enchant on the Barb is gonna give you 1% more crit on your ranged attacks which is still the majority of your overall damage which would still make barb better even with the slightly lower melee attack damage. Last note, when you talk about insanity vs the others you start talking about glancing blows... If you are melee weaving and you are using normal attacks that can be glancing blows you are doing it wrong. Raptor strike and maybe wingclip if you are macroing it in should be the only hunter melee hits on the boss. Again if you have a normal melee swing on the boss which can be a glancing blow you are doing it wrong. If you were talking about melee weapon skill for orc in the manor or it provides the 3% hit than i could go with you but you were talking specifically about glancing blows which is flat out wrong in the debate about melee weaving hunter.

I definitely did mention this. I said the 2.5 has a lot of stats, but you lose out on hit and the set bonus. The set bonus is also really nice for raids since it scales with however many hunters you have. I agree with you on barb vs ashkandi. I even said as such in the video..

About Bard of the Sandreaver and the gun from Ouro. According to my math (converting crit to AP worth etc) barb is about 178AP worth unbuffed, 197 with BOK, 207 with ZG buff, and 226 with both BOK and ZG buff. Silithid Claw+ Fang of the Faceless is about 208AP worth unbuffed, 218 with BOK, 223 with ZG buff and 233 with both. Meaning that duel wielding the two is an extra 30AP worth unbuffed, 21 with BOK, 12 with ZG buff and 7 with both BOK and ZG buffs. I think that considering the sta bonus and damage gap then Barb is about the same because one good Raptor Strike damage would cover for A LOT of ranged attacks with +7-30 AP on them. That's especially true if you're alliance, where BOK is basically assured every raid imo. Also, if you're experiencing a plurality of active hunters in the guild, with no need for as many Trueshot Auras as there are hunters, and you're insane enough to go for a survival agility spec, the barb is just better point blank (and might be a reason to do so). About the gun: What about d0rf hunters? If I'm not wrong the d0rf racial basically makes them treat lvl 63 mobs as lvl 62, which means +3% hit. This means that you can slap a +7 damage scope on it. With the +1% crit I'd argue that maybe in this case the gun would be better if not exactly as good? I mean. There's an 8 damage difference between the two weapons to start with. There's an argument that the gun's speed makes weaving aimed shots less optimal, hence wasting some downtime for auto attacks, but the gun is also 0.4 sec faster.... which is a lot.... it would mean more imp aspect of the hawk procs as well. Or am I wrong here?

Strikers 5 set has higher stats than 5 piece of dragonstalker. Period. Yeah it's missing 2% hit, which you can get from True Flight Bracers and Ossirian's Binding which are also better than T2. You can then add either the gloves from Twin Emp or the R12 gloves which are also better than T12 to boot. The 5 piece makes rapid fire spamable. Especially good for trinket swapping imo. Dragonstalker 8 pieces has like 1-2% proc rate and consider that it can overlap, if you have more than 3 active hunter raiders (which isn't optimal but not unusual) there's no real need for more than 3 hunters trying to proc exposed weakness since it will start to overlap anyway. Frankly even if it won't the additional damage you get from T2.5, the spamable rapid fire, and the plus damage to Multishot from the R12 gloves combined might actually be better and more reliable than the T2 8 pieces proc in any situation. It should be viewed as at least equivalent to T2 imo, if not objectively better. Especially with R12 gloves. And for the spell damage- so what? Is it less meaningful than the trifle and random resistance wasted on the T2 set? Is the 30 shadow resistance from Dragonstalker going to change your life more than a small damage boost to the occasional arcane shot, serpent sting, mend pet and volley?

If you are melee weaving and not rank 12+ in PVP barb of the sand reaver, Mantle of wicked revenge and Vek'lors gloves of devastation are the best pieces you can get for melee weaving. Your T2.5 chest is also great for melee weaving.

First of all great videos, I really learned alot from your videos. Right now im a little confused of what trinkets to use. I have Earthstrike, Jom Gabbar, en the standard trinkets like BB and Devilsaur Eye. How to use them properly for the best DPS. I mean the fights are nowadays short so most of the time I'm using Jom Gabbar and Earthstrike in slot without swapping trinkets. I use Rapid Fire and Jom Gabbar at the start of the fight and after Jom Gabbar fades I'm using Earthstrike. Is that the correct move? Thx and keep up with the awesome videos!

thanks for the video:) I think the armor count of bosses on classic DB is wrong. I read and heared that magmadar has 3731 armor (as all bosses in bwl too) not 4641. If you take in count warrior sunders, warlock curse, druid fairy fire and maybe an off tank with annihilateur you probably end up with a boss without any armor left. My question is le badge of the swarmguard usefull now?

Yeah exactly! It's really hard to find concrete info on armor. You can't reduce mobs into negative armor, so if the boss is already at 0 armor when you pop swarmguard, it's not gonna do any good.

Bosses have 336 armor left with CoR + SA + FF, 36 with Imp EA (Rogue) + CoR + FF It's probably going to suck for PvE

For godslayer and exalted brood? Yeah. It's a huge agi/ap gain for a crit loss. It won't change your hit rating either so you shouldn't have to move any other gear around. It'll take some time to get exalted and godslayer is from cthun though.

Ive heard a couple times now that the AQ40 gun is beating ashjrethul, did you maybe test this out yourself or go after any spreadsheets etc.?

This is actually a really interesting question. So if we look at the numbers for white hits only, larvae wins over ashjrethul, but it's really small. Like 2 dps. Some of that is also just because of the 1% crit. The main thing making ashjrethul better is it's speed. Above 3 speed, you want to use a no clip rotation, below 3 speed you want to use a clip rotation. Being exactly at 3? Things get a lot more complicated. Slower speed also just makes melee weaving easier between those two auto shots and in most cases slower is better when the fight involves movement. You might be able to get the gun to sim higher on a target dummy fight, but not by much and in actual encounters I don't see it beating ashjrethul.

So i'm melee weaving with ash'kandi at the moment as an orc hunter. Would you go for dark edge of insanity if you were me?

Well for certain barb is an upgrade over ash. Barb vs insanity is where it gets complicated. It's gonna depend on how much melee dmg contributes to your overall dmg. Without having it in hand to test I can't be positive, but my guess is it's going to be fight specific. Normal fights = barb fights where you will melee more than just raptor strikes = insanity

Insanity is better if you max weave as barb is too slow to do this without wcb. Being an orc is a plus too.

No mention of the Blessed Qiraji Pugio? 10 less AP than Fang but you get 1% hit from it, making swapping your rings more flexible. Personally going for this over Silithid Claw (2 whole AP)

I don't know about you, but in my guild the 8/8 T2 set bonus is banned from raiding (the debuff slot it takes is a dps loss for the raid and we are just 3 hunters benefiting from it). Taking this into consideration I think I will go for the T2.5 head and chest + the twin emperors gloves. This way I will be 5/8 T2 (for the set bonus) and I can gain some agility over my current setup, which is 7/8 T2 with Crown of Destruction. My internal debate is: which rings? Ofc I will need the Hit ring (signet ring of the bronze dragonflight), but what about the last ring? As you said, the Ring of the godslayer is nice with all the buffs (looking at you HoH), but, imo, the Ring of the Qiraji Fury still comes out victorious, considering we might end up wiping from time to time, and lose all our buffs (and it's good for farming).

Yeah man definitely it's a close call between Qiraji Fury and Godslayer. I'd probably go for whichever has less competition. That's actually an interesting situation. I had thought about mentioning the ds 8/8 debuff getting pushed off or worse, not being allowed but the video was already getting too long.

If you are'nt allowed to use 8/8 Tier 2 you're better off sticking to 8/8 Tier1 over 2.5 unless you're using the Rank 12 gloves, even then you only want Head, Chest and Legs from 2.5

The reason for that is agility scales. So baseline, yes you are right, unbuffed and MM they have the same AP. However, since agility scales with zg buff, LR, kings you get more AP out of in raids. On top of already getting the crit.

Rehija-WoW it’s very much possible. Just get trueaim gauntlets. It has weapon skill AND hit on them. I’m a hunter and accuria and DFT going to us is a complete waste. Being hit cap even while in full NR gear is extremely easy.

@@rehija-wow3269 I do not have DFT or BOA. I still raid with 182 NR (max ill ever need) and 9% hit. I'm not sure where you're getting that last statement of "Having max NR AND Hitcap is without those not possible" from as it is incredibly false. Also, DFT is NOT a hunter item. In a non NR fight you should be trinket swapping so you won't even use the hit and the AP gain from Royal Seal is small. And as I just described in an NR fight you can still very easily get hit without it. I'd /gquit if I was a melee and a hunter got DFT over me. DFT is such a massive upgrade for melee classes.

Barb of the Sand Reaver grants 82 Rap unbuffed/unenchanted, 134 Rap enchanted, if you add kings or hakkar buff to that we're at 147.4 Rap, if you add both you're at 158 Rap, dunno where your 152 comes from. edit: You can get qiraji armaments from multiple bosses giving you a turn in q towards the end of the raid, rewards include a decent 1h axe (with int and ap), a better dagger(with hit) and a gun with Rap. I'm disappointed with the overall drops I must say. I guess I'll work myself towards that exalted ring and jom gabbar, and pick up the silithid claw, barb spear and c'thun ring as no one will want those.

I feel like because of track hidden and flare its pretty heavily on hunters to get rogues out of stealth. Thought it would be worth the 3 seconds to mention rogues will have +1 lvl worth of stealth with that new enchant. I also wrote the script for this video while doing BGs on my rogue so, that might have had something to do with it.

The argument for orc racial on dark edge is pretty weak. Your raptor strike is a yellow attack and won't glance, so only your auto attacks will be glancing. Usually when you weave you're only popping in for that raptor strike anyways, so you're not auto-ing a whole lot unless something goes wrong.

I probably could have explained it better, but I didn't want to go off on a theorycrafting tangent. It's going to be fight specific. If you're two target meleeing or lots of movement meaning you're getting white hits as well, then it's probably going to be better. Still, like I said, I'd want to get one to test it out.
