Looking forward to this season coming in Sept, most of it will be in Nov. Got an elk, a moose, and Whitetail and Muledeer tags.

I much enjoy your videos JE. Hunting has changed quite a bit since I hunted in the 1960s and 70s when there was no internet, no digital photography, no cell phones, no voicemail, no GPS, no range-finders, no LED lights, no locator beacons, and very very few helicopters flew recreational hunters around. We hunters tramped for days sometimes to get into remote blocks, and then usually had no communications with the outside world because 2-way radios back then were heavy beasts needing heavy long wire aerials, all of which most hunters did not bother with. My NZ hunting memoir RED DEER WRITING has recently become available in a NZ-edited, NZ-published (by Opaoa Publishing), 2023 edition, available from all NZ book shops, and if they don’t have it in stock they will order it for you.

So stoked to see the stag videos are back! Planning for my first hunt ever this year, I appreciate all the tips you include along with the effort that goes into these videos! On a side note, do you ever show the process of packing the stag out? With your pack filled for a days worth of goods i'm curious how you fit that large of animal into the pack. Does it take multiple trips or is there a technique to fit all the meat without needing an empty pack? Keep up the great work Joe, another amazing video! Cheers!
