I wonder if it's liquid hydrogen or hydrogen in a compressed bottle? Liquid hydrogen is much harder to make and possibly requires a particle accelerator. Hydrogen as a gas canister would not be safe in a collision and would be a pain to refill and keep the bottles warm.
