Your last sentance is too funny. If you ever heard about Dragonlord here in germany. He had entire groups travel to his house DAILY to harass him. They even made a Festival at his little 40 people village one year that around 300 bullies attended. Around 100.000 people are estimated to have travelled to his house in 8 years only to annoy him. When he finally moved the village did a party. And the local politica bought his house and ripped it down to prevent it from bexoming a new Mekkah

It's heartbreaking that there's someone with a serious mental illness (paranoid schizophrenia?) in one of the most developed nations in the world, and even with all of that attention on him the main thing that is happening is that a bunch of attention-seekers start bullying him. Barely anyone tries to help, he just gets arrested over and over. Any they even filmed his dying father. This man needs help and he's in no state to seek it himself. Getting help with a mental illness is like having to sprint to the hospital with two broken legs.

Mental health treatment has always been very far behind in Asian countries. For example, a lot of Asian parents will treat things like depression as being "sloppy" or "lazy", or if you have anxiety, they'll think you're irrational and there's nothing to be afraid of. It's been slowly improving, but some of these videos are older and it was even worse back then. So much respect to Natural9 and Kobayashi though. This is so deeply depressing. Genuinely, my heart hurts watching this, especially as someone who has struggled with their mental health (not psychosis, though). He needs help, and he deserves it, so does everyone else. Instead, he was treated like he wasn't human and just a funny meme man that you can earn fake internet points from if you mess with him. I cannot imagine how difficult it is to deal with real life trolls and stalkers, let alone when you are already suffering from delusions that led it to happen in the first place. His behaviour wasn't great, but he wasn't really in control of it because he couldn't really make reasonable decisions or weigh up consequences. He did what his brain told him to do, not the other way around. And instead of people seeing that and trying to get him help, they preyed on him and made fun of him, just furthering his suffering. That is so gross and depressing and truly despicable. The fact that Japan (and other developed countries, like South Korea) still don't have any kind of care or awareness of mental health is horrific. How can these countries be developed when nobody can get psychological help, and if they do, then they're subjected to that stigma forever? I'm not saying other countries are good at mental health, but at least we've progressed past this somewhat. I have seen trolls in the west stop once they realised someone was mentally unwell/developmentally disabled/whatever. Not all of them, and they shouldn't have been doing it in the first place, but they will at least try to get them help and call welfare checks. I don't always think it's from a good place, but I think it can be good. Better than acting out someone's persectution delusions, at least.

I've only watched part of the video, but the tone of this presenter is also unhelpful and unsympathetic, more like mocking his beliefs and actions than understanding from a mental health point of view. Maybe he'll change his tone in the later part of the video but it's still uncomfortable to me.

Poor dude, where I'm from government forcibly takes these people to mental institutions since they get better help there, I know it is kinda of forceful but that's one of the ways to help people who are being a nuisance and nobody's there to help them, when doctor decides he's stable the patient will be dismissed from hospital.

in my country they can only force you into a mental hospital for up to 2 nights. After that if you want to leave and there seems no immediate harm to you or others, they have to let you go. There are options to take away your free decision making and get a government-ordered caretaker who can decide for you, but this is only done for extreme cases, like last stages of dementia for example. If someone needs help, they need to want help, since you can't really force someone to accept help and it's only going to be successful if the person being helped cooperates.

19:41 It's not hard to sympathize with Yoshi in this story. He's a woefully mentally ill man in a country which horribly stigmatizes mental illness. This isn't a dig on Japan alone - America is hardly better in most places - but the real tragedy here, above all else, is the lack of help and resources in place for Yoshi, and the lack of understanding and compassion his clearly erratic behavior received.
