@ilokivi
@ilokivi 2 жыл бұрын
The narration claims at 14:46 about the Permian-Triassic mass extinction: "It is still not known what caused such a global mortality." This is highly suspect, as several independent studies have identified a long-lasting flood basalt eruption located at the Siberian traps as initiating a global temperature rise of 5 degrees Celsius, which destabilised methyl hydrate on ocean beds to sublimate into the atmosphere. This raised global temperatures by a further 5 degrees, interfering with the water cycle and ocean currents due to increased evaporation and reduced equatorial-polar temperature gradients. This damaged multiple ecosystems and food chains on land and in oceans. Similarly, the narration claims at 18:09 regarding the end-Cretaceous mass extinction: "It is still not clear what caused dinosaurs to become extinct." There is abundant evidence of a substantial extraterrestrial object striking the Earth in the northern Yucatan where Chicxulub now stands, creating a crater approximately 300km wide and 30km deep. This collision caused tsunamis, ignited global forest fires from vaporised rock recaptured by the Earth's gravity which produced so much smoke (in addition to the Deccan traps eruptions in India) that photosynthesis was substantially reduced worldwide. Ecological damage led to widespread starvation, resulting in all non-avian dinosaurs becoming extinct. It is surprising that this basic factual error has not been detected and corrected before release.

If you put on a graphic all impact craters larger than 20 km you will find that they occur in a cycle of approximately 10.015 million years, and that includes all the largest extinctions also. Scientists look only at the "rough 27.5 million years cycle" for the extinctions, that's a biased approach. And the only reason they could not find craters for all the extinctions is that they are far larger than Chicxulub, and interpreted as volcanic arcs formed by collision of tectonic plates, even though a lot of these arc are located far away from tectonic boundaries.
@jeffersonwagnerdessordi8958
@jeffersonwagnerdessordi8958 2 жыл бұрын
10,015 was a typo, the correct is 10.015 million years. I've corrected it after discovering the "edit" tool. My bad. Complementing my comment, all these impacts and extinctions can be attributed to just one large comet, or better saying, a large swarm of comet fragments, a simple explanation for a long time "mystery".

The "Tanis" dig site seems to have proven the impact of an asteroid in the Gulf of Mexico (the dinosaur extinction). Tiny asteroid pieces have been found in fishes, the riverbed and in amber, the composition of those microtektites characteristic of asteroids and not just terrestrial slag of the crust. The fossiles found there all seem to have died within the same day.

The information in this video is inaccurate. It incorrectly mentions that the first amphibians arrived on land during the permian era. When in fact, the first amphibians had arrived on land before the carboniferous era, during the devonian era and would evolve into a plethora of terrestrial life from the first reptiles to giant insects such as meganeura and giant centipedes such as arthopleura.

I don’t where you all keep getting this from. 8:57 the Huronian ice ages were not a 300 million year long glacial cycle. No geologist (including me) who studies those rocks says that. That’s the length of the deposition of the supergroup. The sedimentary deposits are mostly fluvial stream and shallow marine deposits. Also, there’s no evidence of a snowball earth then. The few glacial deposits within the Huronian Supergroup, look a lot like modern ones. Plus, we aren’t even confident of the continental arrangement then. The paleomagnetic data just hasn’t been worked out yet.

I absolutely appreciate the information that is provided in these videos with such vivid live reanimation of the pre-historic times of the earth. However as I am very skeptical of religion and like to question a lot, I would pretty much question the authenticity of your research with due respect as you have obviously put in a lot of time and effort into your work. Many thanks for these awesome videos

Battle Star Galactica; even before i saw the show, I always had this feeling that life came from somewhere else and "helped us out", after having seen the ending to that show, it BLEW my mind that i wasnt the only one whod thought something crazy like that. I still kind of feel like alien life of some sort helped in our evolution

So relaxing and informative. Listening to this is how humankind will evolve and become a more advanced race. Where did folks like this come up with the idea to produce programs like this? Maybe more advanced beings really are trying to enlighten us to become more advanced. Thank you to them. I listen to these programs in my sleep. I seek the knowlege of the ages🤔

"Hello! Are you a Silurian? Look, do you understand me? Well, what do your people want? How can we help you? How many are there of you? Tell us what we can do! ... No, wait! Wait! Wait! Unless you Silurians tell us what you want, the humans will destroy you!"
