What a great idea. How did I miss this? I love dresden. I'm making a big plate to be a rug! I didn't have the hand strength to make a jelly roll rug after I had all the supplies, so I made a basket weave rug w my strips. You know, big quilt blocks would make nice throw rugs. Hmmmm. Thanks for the vid, you're the best.☮❤🙋

Great project, Laura.👍😘 If I make one I will probably assemble the pieces using my serger and use my serger to attach the batting, backing and the top panels together before turning. Instead of applique I would use my embroidery machine and put a design in the centre and finish with my regular sewing machine.

TheCynedd thanks for your input! We are away at the moment but enjoyed watching without sound, and reading comments helps me too. I have a new overlocker (serger) and I can see you point! Thanks from Brisbane Australia

Thank you Laura for this tutorial, you always explain everything so well. I'm glad you showed the back of the finished project to give us ideas on how to quilt it. That is one area I struggle with. And I love your choice of fabric for the center circle, that came out great! Thanks so much for your time.

Laura what a great video, thank you! Is this kit still available? Love your colors. I have a large circle dining room table and would love the 40" [15"] blades. Plus I really need the precut if possible. Can you suggest a good pattern if this is not available at this time? Thank you for your tutorials.

Hi Laura! I'm really glad to finally watch a video for a dresden plate this size...most of the videos are for 9 or ten degree rulers to have a final product...(too many wedges). I would like to know if there is a store where to find a template for this and a bigger size dresden template; I have a table that is 45" diameter and I would like to try a dresden plate as a topper. Is it possible for you to teach us how to make a template this size? I really like and learn from your videos. Thanks!!

Love this. Do you have to quilt the table top when you use the fusible batting? Or can you leave it fused together?

You still need to quilt them as the fusible washes out. It is just temporary
