This would be cool with some sort of panorama shot that consisted of several positives. Though, that might only work when looking from the inside.

Looking at the Ektachrome 5294 spec sheet (because movie spec sheets actually have camera stops along the curve): It starts clipping the highlights at around four stops over. So setting your exposure so that’s where the highlights of the image falls should be a decent way to ensure the white point is correct. I’d probably still use a middle grey patch to make sure the mids track with that. But of course that’s also dependent on where middle grey ends up falling in the scan. Going for the highlights is probably the best. And yes, you really gotta use a spot meter for that.

Since you're photographing the ipad screen, would be possible to invert the images on the ipad and shoot with negative film?

Good question…

Now what if it spins like a lazy susan of incredible photography..?! Also Reminds me of those fluorescent light panel covers that had photos on them , seen in old delis or donut shops, but you did a far superior job of it, much higher fidelity indeed! 🎉 cool and crafty, i ❤ it!

you could try Xeroxing coloured prints on to clear acetate to your required size and put them on a lamp if you dont do 4x5

Could do that :)

thought about setting up a praxinoscope style thing. Like shoot a stop motion 4x5 scene on slide film and create a Ferris wheel rotating projector. 4x5 motion picture would be cool

I know it's not on film and all of that but you could totally do this with getting color transparency's printed at somewhere like Fedex with your favorite scanned images.

I mean sure but not the same lol

Do you have experience how quick slide film fades due to heat or constant light ? And would it be not so fancy but more accessible and cheaper to use medium format film (in another type of lamp) or print it on a laser printer onto slides and use these instead ?

We shall see what happens 🤷 I’m not sure 🤔

a second sheet of plexiglass on the outside might make the lamp more durable
@BadFlashes3 күн бұрын
Yeah could. But the durability isn’t as bad. :)

Super lampe j'adore, bravo! )

Hahaha I’m crazy what can I say lol

Maybe printing onto inkjet transparency sheets could save you some money... unless you want to do the 4x5 version.

I have tried that before… but it doesn’t come out the same… definitely cool but not the same
@mstrshkbrnnn19993 күн бұрын
Maybe I’m asking a stupid question, but would this not degrade the positives over time?
@BadFlashes2 күн бұрын
Probably but we shall see what happens… maybe that just means I’ll have to change out the exposures at some point :)

Great project but couldn't you just have your images sent to be printed on a clear film rather than exposing sheet film off an Ipad? 🤷🏽♂
@BadFlashes4 күн бұрын
I mean, I guess but wouldn’t of been the same thing I’ve used transparent papers like that and they don’t really have the same vibrantcy
