Doesn't seem that this is true. OP may have misread something or some media may have distorted the facts. To be fair, it is possible that this is how Hannah or her father has stated it, if they've taken her (hypothetical) early education into account. Young kids can certainly be actors, why not prop workers and apprentice armourers or stunt people? A couple of the scale doubles in the Lord of the Rings films were children. Merry's double was a 12 year old boy and Pippin's double was a little girl, also 12 I think. She was involved in various things, including horseriding and stunt falls/rolls. Other scale doubles/stunt performers were adult little people, but I do remember the two kids. So.... yeah. 15 years as an armourer? No. 15 years experience in the film industry, maybe.

Blanks are still technically live rounds, there is still a projectile that is designed for a specific safe range of use. You have to have different blanks for different distances. They'd have to really look at it, as well.

It sounds like the entire set was working under difficult conditions due to the personalities involved. When there's this much chaos in a professional setting people are bound to get hurt, because everyone is thinking about the personal slight they received, the talking down they received, or immense stress they are under, and the bullies are ganging up on people, while the management is just wanting everyone to stop bickering and get through the day. Half of their staff walked off set! It's not surprising that many people cut corners and someone's "prank" caused a death. I just wonder if the right person will ever be charged? Or will they hang it on the person that should have checked the gun?

Cancelling Hannah's father's flight to the set is just horrifying. But it makes total sense to do, right? Perfectly logical in my mind. If you're hazing and screwing with the daughter of a highly experienced armourer, the last thing you want is him on set, because with his experience, he's likely to be able to spot the shady shit and he's going to call it out. Plus he's going to save his daughter's ass most likely, which would be a bummer if you've put all this work in to get rid of her. So, if you know he's going to come to set and you're part of wanting to get rid of Hannah, you need to prevent that. We're not thinking about safety here. Our primary goal is to rid ourselves of this annoying little pipsqueak, so we can easily justify this in our minds. The ends justify the means. Even if you're not part of the desire to get rid of her and you're just somebody who does what they're told (as Ant said 1st AD Halls is, right?), you might just cancel his flight if you are asked to. And the First Assistant Director is certainly somebody who would be aware of any visitors to set, because managing the set is his job. In fact, Hannah might have had to tell AD Halls her father was coming, or her father could have notified them if that's normal proceedure. Production has to know who's on set, after all.

Under the kind of abuse, pressure, and hostile work environment that would break some people and is far too common. She wrongly did what we're all told to do when we're being bullied - suck it up and cope. Ignore them and they'll get bored and go away, right? We're conditioned to that from nursery school. Don't whine and cry, don't be such a baby, grow the eff up. And she did. Because she pushed herself and pushed herself, did all she could to get her jobs done and also compensate for, or cope with, the immature idiots who were running around trying to tie her shoelaces together, she screwed up, big-time. The criminal in this case is ego/arrogance, and the confluence of minor moving pieces that added up to tragic results, like what Ant said about dominoes. So every person who operated out of ego is responsible for 1 or 2 pieces, or dominoes. In my mind, whoever put the live round(s) there is the most culpable, and the (gigglers) who knew about it are accessories. Next would be if Alex aimed a gun at a person, when everyone knows you NEVER do that on set, then he committed manslaughter.

I never assume a creator will cater to my individual expectations. I watch different channels to expand my mind & learn about other's views. Emily has mentioned Ant before so this was not a huge surprise. I enjoyed it for what it was & would watch more. You can't put anyone in a box, especially Emily. Yes, there was a tragic loss of life but if we can't be patient & respectful enough to listen to a different viewpoint for a few minutes, then we need to look within ourselves as to why we are so closed minded.
@susyhtoontin26493 жыл бұрын
No one but Emily put Emily in a box. She literally advertizes herself as "FACTS, NOT FUCKERY". And this session was FUCKERY. I really wouldn't mind if she claimed herself to be an entertainment content creator, but that's not what she claims herself to be. (Sorry, I have made quite a few comments here, but I just cannot contain myself, especially as I always had looked forward to all her videos.) Why would she bring in a psychic to this subject matter? I might expect it from Down With Jason, or even Up and Adam, but not on this channel.
@snoopydancin4u3 жыл бұрын
I redpect your displeasure & understand you look forward to her videos. But why is this so upsetting to you? Being this invested in 1 video, made by 1 creator is a little over the top (in my opinion). Emily works her ass off for us, don't you think she has earned & deserves to have 1 video that is fun with a different view? I would like to think she has and then some! Be patient and you will be able to view another "fact" video soon.

@@snoopydancin4u It's so upsetting to me because I look forward with joy and anticipation to Emily's uploads, whether they be new or old ones that I have not seen, each and every day. I feel betrayed because I have so much esteem, respect, and admiration for her. Yes, it is but one video, but it is one that makes me question Emily's, shall I say, judgement? I feel betrayed because this one little video has upset the cart for me, and I don't want to feel like that. Granted, I may be overreacting, but this is how I feel and I cannot help it. @@1976mcfarlane Maybe I am, and maybe I'm not. The bottom line is, I cannot view Emily in the same light as I did before this one video. And that makes me very sad. I tried to watch Emily's new session (Coffee & Cursey Words | Erika Girardi's Company, Dave Portnoy Sues Insider - February 8, 2022) today, and it's just not the same anymore. As for that psychic guy, I simply think psychics are nothing but charlatans feeding on people's gullibility. I've worked with dangerous and or sensitive objects before. My boss loved just dumping something in my workspace while I wasn't there. I'd get back to my workspace with this unknown item with an unknown status in my area. I would refuse to handle the item except to lock it in a cupboard meant for quarantining these kinds of items. Until I get all the paperwork filed, and I know precisely what is wrong with this item, I would refuse to work with it on or it. This frustrated my boss who would come along later on asking me how far I am with said item, and I'd pull up a chair for him and hand him the paperwork to be filled out and stand there staring at him while he did it. I know the armourer is young, and I put the mistake down to that, but when you work with life-threatening devices, you don't just use supplies from a box that appeared and no one knows how it got there, whether it's a box of needles or a box of dummy rounds. I'm quite surprised and disappointed that as a lawyer, who I'd expect to only deal in hard facts, you would entertain the quackery of a psychic. What happened to "facts not fuckery"? I don't have a problem with discussion/speculation about cases for fun as long as it's represented clearly as only being speculation and is based on actual facts. However psychics by nature represent what they're saying as having some sort of basis in fact when it absolutely does not. To make unsubstantiated accusations about real people's lives and an ongoing case where a person died is wholly irresponsible and distasteful. That's no longer a legal discussion, that's just plain gossip and that's not what I thought this channel was about.

I think Emily might need to change her tag line from “Facts NOT Fuckery” to “Facts AND Fuckery.” Or maybe isolate these kind of bs shows to one day a week and call them: “Fuckery Friday” I know this is all about building her membership and therefore all about money but, wtf? She’s been just shy of 200,000 since the beginning of December and collabs are a quick way to increase that membership number but is it worth throwing away your reputation? As is typical of psychics, Ant would say, “Is there something about…?” And Emily would say “yes” or “no” and feed him the facts and somehow this validates his “gift.” Fuckery. Also, of all the cases to do a lighthearted card reading/psychic collaboration on, this should not have been it. A man was shot, a young woman died and a little boy lost his mother. It’s just wrong. Emily is brilliant and highly respected for her honest fact-driven and educated law commentary. It is the benchmark for all case study creators on KZbin. Okay so after catching up on everything that is coming out about this here is my theory: I think there was significant drama in the prop department, and I agree with Emily, I think the live rounds were to “test” Hannah or to set her up to lose her job or her credibility for the numerous issues with the firearms. I think Alec’s involvement is unrelated to the prop drama and just made it a perfect storm. He is know to be arrogant, temperamental, and all around a not good person. It’s my belief that he had come on to Halaina and she rejected him, or there was an aggressive romantic/sexual advance and there was a threat or he had a feeling it might be reported. I think there was already tension and annoyance towards her, so when she wasn’t fully satisfied with how he looked in the shot, he got aggressive. He said in one of his interviews that he was going “like this? Like this? How does this look? Is this good enough”. You could hear annoyance in his tone when he was recalling this to the interviewer. I think he intentionally shot the gun, I truly believe that he didn’t know there was a live round. I truly think he thought there was only blanks. I think wanted to scare her, because she hurt his ego with the rejection then “humiliated” him by ordering him around during blocking. So he shot the blank, wanting to scare her, being under the reasonable belief that there was no immediate danger (which is stupid anyways, Brandon Lee was famously hit and killed with the packing from a blank). So he blocked out or lied about feeling the recoil of a live bullet, knowing that he purposely shot the gun but under the belief it was a cold gun. Cause he truly didn’t want to believe that he shot and killed somebody “intentionally”, the longer he said it took to realize it was a live round, the less likely he looks guilty. The tension between him and his wife, relates back to this too. If she knew he came on to her then she would have mixed feelings about her. If you watch observe and Logan’s analysis of her body language, he brings up that Hilaria has a hostility when mentioning Halaina but isn’t sure why. I think she knew he was attracted to her, and was threatened by it, regardless of if she knew about his advances or not. So when she passed, she didn’t know how to process her negative feelings towards her.

I've spent much of my life with people shifting their ontological goalposts on me and labelling me as the crazy one for noticing. I'm not challenging anyone's beliefs or trying to be annoying, and I'm not judging *where* you put those goalposts, I just felt like I had a home here and feel weirdly upset, even somehow betrayed, by those goalposts constantly moving and being told they're static.
