Casey didn't do it in less year actually. It's exactly the same. Casey did it in 4 seasons (07-10), and Pecco claimed the 23rd win in 4 seasons as well (21-24). Of course, this doesn't count Pecco's days at Pramac, as it is a satellite team. And with still many races to go this season, Pecco can go beyond what Casey did in 4 seasons with the factory Ducati.

There were less races in those seasons. Casey had a higher percentage. Pecco barely got 60 points in his two years on the Ducati. He doesn't even have half the talent stoner did.

@ionutgiza9026 I agree that they shouldn't be compared. But if you do, I would say that Stoner was the best at riding a difficult Ducati bike while Pecco is the best at riding an "easy" Ducati . Which one is the most difficult to do? When "everyone" can extract the maximum of a bike and still Pecco comes out on top gets kudos from me. I think that Pecco is better overall, although Stoner can descredit my own words as he as won two titles in two different bikes, proving that he wasn't only specialist at riding a bronco bike and could ride a tamer Honda (although I think he wouldn't be so good as Rossi or Lorenzo on a Yamaha, but that remains just an opinion). And also, considering just the Honda riders, he beat Pedrosa in his first year but was beaten by Pedrosa the next.

Pecco is a great champion. He fought back against Fabio when Fabio had a huge lead going into summer break. He fought off Martin's hard charge last year. This year he had some bad luck and kept his head down and has been just a step beyond everyone else. He dominated Assen, Martin who is an exmplarary rider was 2 seconds off his pace, after that 3rd place was 7 seconds down the road. That's a huge margin of victory.

Totally different era. Stoner (from 2007) was the only Ducati consinstenly finishing Top3/Top5 in an Era dominated by Honda/Yamaha (Rossi/Lorenzo/Pedrosa etc.). Look what happened when he went to Honda, Ducati totally desappeared (with Rossi was a total failure). As a fan of Pecco i want him to win this year and many more but i can't say he is like or better than Stoner.

Stoner passed everybody on the straights because his bike was 20kph faster than everybody else. I dont even think he made a pass that year under brakes through a corner. So 2007 was not that impressive tbh. 09,10 were more impressive that he could still win on that pos, especially with his illness.

Yes he's very good, but just consider his support system. An Italian rider, Italian team, Italian entourage (family and friends), Italian clique (Rossi and the ranch all have his back), Italian bike, and a Eurocentric series. Whereas in the other major contending country (Spain) it's every man for himself! No Spanish bike manufacturer, no Spanish ranch/camps, no Spanish cliques, etc. On the other hand, again, There are many Spanish circuits, and managers/support crew members. I guess the point is, Nakagami doesn't stand a chance.

Pecco may be the most successful Ducati rider in the sport's history, but Stoner is still the best Ducati rider imo. I mean at the time Stoner was active MotoGP was completely dominated by Japanese bikes and he would end up being the only non-Japanese bike rider who won the world title during the "MotoNippon" era (which lasted between 1975 - 2019).

He also won that title going 20 kph faster down the straights compared to any of the Japanese bikes. I cant remember him making an overtake that year going around a corner. All in the straights. His performance on the ducati in 09 and 10 still winning races on that pos was impressive though. Especially with his illness.

The way stoner entering corners and setting laptimes even on out lap is something unreal which even Valentino acknowledged that among his rivals Stoner is the most talented of all. Do check his laps around Philip Island specially through Stoner corner. Keeping the front on kerb and sliding the rear. Things which he done is some jaw dropping stuff. That said it won't discredit Pecco's abilities which he himself acknowledge stoner is miles ahead. Thats why he is humble and class who keep head on his shoulders. If Marc makes more titles than Valentino, that won't bring down Rossi level in any case because he is the one changed the landscape of MotoGP.

good old days? i watched stoner, rossi, pedrosa, lorenzo back then. it was always been lorenzo or stoner far in the front, just rossi who was always gave entertaintment, the gap was always too far between factories and independents, even with other factories.. the fight is rare, but the riders is strong. only in some circuit we saw the fight. thats why they brought ECU to balancing the championship. the peak season is in 2015 when ducati aero was had much impact. now the fight is getting rare but the gap between riders is still close.
