@Tom Navy I don't know if you have a Bible but I suggest that you read the book of Job 1:6-12 (and the book of Job in general is a great book to read on pain and suffering und Satan's influence). In the book of Job it does help us understand the reason why God allows pain and suffering. God tests every one of us 1 Theselonians 2:4, but you may ask why does he test us? So Disciples (or Christians) ought to have a relationship with God but how will God know if our actions are genuine with out testing our relationship? For our relationship to be real we must choose it freely because for a relationship to be fully chosen there has to be a possibility of us rejecting the relationship and wherever there is that possibility of rejection there will be pain, suffering and tests (Ravi and Vitale, 2014).

The DNA book of a life is a pretty way of saying it, sweet and in ways accurate, but it does not have a spine, literal pages or contains language only ever known to be from humans. These are examples of very highly specific variables clearly and never not associated with humans. There, I think that is a good explanation, and hey, maybe that guy did run away.

I have a chronic illness among other things, but when Ray went over the different things I have been given (eyes, brain, tastebuds), it reminded me to be so thankful for the health I do have, that I can still see, even if my vision isn't that good, wearing glasses is really not a big concern. I mean what you say makes sense, but there is no evidence that this universe was created by your god. As an atheist, I am open to the idea of a creator, just not to the Muslim one, nor the Jewish or Christian one. It doesn't make sense how there are so many different religions in different parts of the world, which only leads me to believe that all of them are simply stories made up by people that desired an explanation for events occuring in nature/life. I think that it would make sense if there were some creator that set off the big bang. I just have no clue what this entity could possibly look like, or for what reason the universe was created. Back when there was no internet, screens, medias, books... people had much more time on their hands to do that, when survival was directly linked to the understanding of our surrounding, the laws were evident. We have the luxury to make up our own philosophy and to be wrong about it nowadays, we taught ourselves to conform to society to fit into it, distracting ourselves from the Truth. Our creator is an intelligent infinite creative loving being, and he wants to have a relationship with his creations. But he gave us free will, because love cannot be forced. People have taken God's identity and his will and have twisted it to fit the times and agendas of people. Do not associate who God is with imperfect humans claiming to represent him. All you need to do is honestly ask your creator to reveal himself to you, ask truly without prejudice, without expectation, he might reveal himself to you the first time and he might not, but if you are honestly seeking THE truth (not just a "truth" that's convenient for you) then you will find it. Just have an open heart and an open mind and ask your creator to reveal the truth to you personally, that's it. This is false Doctrine that you can just "accept Jesus as your savior". You can't confess with your lips but then not believe it in your heart. Many say Jesus is their savior, and live like a devil, never denying themselves and taking up their cross for their flesh to be spiritually crucified. This is why you see so many proselytized 'Christians' that are tare disguised as wheat, because they never died to self. I appreciate the wisdom that God has given Ray in dealing with Atheist, but he is in error, particularly with taking the Lord's name in vain. It's not saying ' God D**n' , but exactly what I described. It's one that says Jesus is Lord with their lips but don't do His will. Those that say 'The Lord said' and it wasn't The Lord. I have no problem with the video, but the title is not really accurate. It implies that the woman left her atheism and lesbianism and became a Christian. Eddy, with all due respect, I think you are misjudging him. I am a Christian and former atheist. I don't agree with Comfort on several things, including the age of the earth (he is a young earth creationist.) But I can tell you he is completely sincere in his desire to help people know Jesus. I've seen him for years, and I'm convinced he has no ulterior motives. As for not engaging "smart people" he has been in a number of public debates with "Smart people." I don't think he fared particularly well in the ones I saw. There are much better Christian debaters than Ray. if you want to hear an intelligent discussion of the issues (and I'm not sure you do) watch William Lane Craig, or J Warner Wallace or John Lennox. (there are dozens more). I don't think you're going to get the best discussions of intellectual issues from Comfort. Having said that, he is spot-on in the fact that until we see our need as sinners, the love and forgiveness of God through Jesus makes little sense. I'm not sure if "public square preaching" will reach people (I tried it as a young Christian 3 decades ago to no avail). It's more likely to attract hecklers. I was reached by a patient friend who discussed the issues with me for a year and a half while I wrestled with them. I would not have responded to Ray's type of preaching, but maybe some folks will. I think instead of accusing people of false motives (when you have no idea) try to honestly engage with the issues. That will be more productive.

Hi Daniel. I agree that Comfort is not a good debater. if you are honestly interested in an intellectual discussion of the issues, try William Lane Craig, or J Warner Wallace or John Lennox. (there are dozens more). Dillahunty is one of the better atheist debaters, and Ray is one of the weakest Christian debaters. I find Matt D quite engaging. I am a former atheist. I have read or listened to (as of Sept 2017) more than 140 agnostic or atheists, as well as about Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist and Hindus, all of whom where speaking or debating against God and Christianity. I think I know every argument for and against at this point. To be honest, as an atheist, I never engaged the issues, and very few atheists today have. (nor have many Christians). If you are intellectually honest, you should listen to the best arguments for both sides before making up your mind. About 98% of folks make up their minds, then look for reasons to justify their beliefs. I wish you luck and challenge you to check out the evidence with an open mind.

We all struggle with sin and sinful thoughts and doubts of being unworthy. when we understand Jesus sacrifice for us, and trust in Him it fills us with gratitude and strengthens us against sin. please also realize that temptation is not sin, but avoid temptation when you can. Thank you for your prayers - I still have a long way to go, I am only just starting my journey with God, but I love and trust in him - I will not give in to temptation and I am so grateful for the sacrifice Jesus made for us - I have realised that it is very difficult now, a lot of people have turned away from god and have been blinded by sin - i was very much like them less than a week ago, but the Holy Spirit has saved me and I have found god! It's not too late. The gift of eternal life and salvation is free from our Father in Heaven. Humans have a sinful nature and we are all condemned to Hell, but God loved us so much that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us and pay the wages of our sins. All you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and receive him as your Lord and savior. If you do not repent of your sins and deny God, you will regret it when you meet the Lord. Your book will not be written in the Book of Life and he will tell you to depart from him and an angel will cast you into the Lake of fire forever.

Here's my take, not to disrespect Ray. His approach is solid. I would personally evangelize as follows. Without communion with God, there is only death, sin is emptiness and bondage, because you're going against your God given image. Hell is a place of torment, agony, bondage, and separation, where there is no turning back, and you're thrown together with the hateful and murderous, the prideful, the lustful, the thieves, evil people, where you all consume one another in the quest for more self-worship. Its a place that lacks love, reason, and God himself, from whom all goodness flows. He made you to have communion with him, he loves you because he made you. Everyone feels unloved in this place, because none of us love and consider each other like we ought to. I like to stress the absolute futility and meaninglessness that goes with not accepting God's order that he made outside of us and within us. Thx for reading.

That is very good understanding that a Christian would get no problem. But those words don't have any meaning to non-Christians and people who have never read the Bible. It won't do much to tell someone about the Imagio Dei without them understanding the character of Gid - a just and Holy God who hates sin. Because when you say "you aare made in the image of God" to someone who does not know God they will think about their very idolatrous God they made up to suit them. You have to make sure they understand the Gid of the Bible first. The God of justice and mercy. And explain that and that's what ray does. The thing you wrote is great for people who already know God but read it from the point of view of someone who has their own misunderstanding of God of the Bible and you can see how it might not work.
