AhTs (12:05): Your bet on the end needs to be bigger unless you're just trying to get something like A2/AJ+ to fold. If you are pretty sure he has an overpair and you have T9 here, what's the maximum you can expect him to call? I think he calls at least 1/2 pot. I think you have to either jam or give up here. FWIW, I'd probably bet smaller on the flop given your stack size, to have a bigger stack later in the hand. If you bet 35, pot will be 194, with 435 behind. 80 on the turn would create a pot of 354, with 355 behind. I'd then jam the river to get JJ to fold. KdQh: After losing value after flop checks through, I'd bet larger on the turn.

Tough question! Triple barrel bluffs work but villain has way more 9x then you and most players aren’t gonna fold over-pairs, including myself lol you’d have to seriously bomb the River to get him off it but you weren’t deep enough

Love your videos. Keep them coming. I think you are missing out on some value. You seem to be hyper focused on your hand and how it connects with the board. there are plenty of spots where you should be playing your range vs your opponents range. I recommend the book "The Course" by Ed Miller

On that pocket 77 vs AJ hand, he put in that $20 bet as a feeler bet to see where he was at. Since you just called and then checked the turn and then lead out on the river the story wasn’t adding up. Re raise his $20 stab to $60 and he most likely folds.. if he calls then you check the turn and blast river and I guarantee you win that pot being he likes to bluff a lot.. other than that I really enjoyed the video

Do you like the rake structure better at 101 or at tch? I live closer to 101 but drive out to tch because of the rake but I’ve never actually played at 101.

The rake structure is different at both clubs and really depends on the size of the pots you’re involved in. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Low stakes, bluff much less. One of the major errors low stakes players make is calling too much. You can get a bluff through, with a blocker or an indication that your opponent is on a broken draw, but even then there's plenty of "I just have to see it."

3x ip is a good starting point, you definitely don't need to add to every dollar over that, honestly probably .5 per dollar is plenty, even lower at stakes where your buy in is capped to a lower bb amount.

12:05 you bet 1/3 pot so he was getting great odds to call... If you jam maybe he can fold putting you on a set ot st8 but then would a set really jam on this river...? Tough one

I was the villain. Given the 3 bet preflop, I just don't think he has many 9's or sets in his range, so with this sizing, I had to look him up. This is one of the best run outs I'm gonna get with pocket jacks. If I'm folding here, I may as well just fold preflop.

8:17 are you bluffing or betting for value…? I think betting for thin value is fine but probably smaller. If bluffing… do you really expect anyone to fold a better hand than AQ here?? But if you are going to bluff here… much bigger Bluffing is fine sometimes, but you have to go BIG. Doesnt matter if it doesnt “make sense” if its big enough

Ya my biggest leak is bluffing at low stakes, folks just don’t fold when they should lol
@trulygxld68854 ай бұрын
Are you raising big enough with over bets? I get ppl to fold out trips and top 2 pair all the time in my 1/3 games

Also the A4o hand is just a fold preflop. But also your hand is too good to bluff with? Can just call, you have top pair

Bluff tight players with small amounts and give up when they call
@TheNow_Now4 ай бұрын
Your bluffs arent working bc you pick sizings that are too small. All low stakes players will basically go huge with value and and low 40% pot with a bluff. Size up if you want some fold equity. Like the ATo hand you bet so small on river people will just sigh call with a pair, vs if you bet like 325+

Stop bluffing low stakes unless you absolutely know it’ll get through. I’m a very profitable 1-3 player and just play abc poker. Bluff every now and then when I have a solid read.

People in low stakes are dumb as hell. They call you down with third pair on a 4 liner straight or flush on the board. Only try bluffs on certain people.

Oh Lord, did you really just raise AK preflop from $20 with multiple callers, to $70? You gotta make it a little scarier, to say $85+. It’s apparent that the table has already read your play style, raise preflop, check if you miss, and bet if you hit. Way too passive, and easy to read. With that AQ suited on the button, and you just call, allowing 4 or 5 players to the flop? Now you flop the world, and right on cue you bet, allowing everyone to fold, minimizing your win due to your preflop play. You gotta hammer the dead money with a raise to about $100.
