I think a big factor to make clear is that although a student might be good at maths, A Level further maths requires a lot of independent learning due to the novelty of many concepts in the classroom.

I am taking CIE, If u are taking additional math in GCSE, then Math should be no problem to u. But further math is a different story, u will need a bit knowledge for physics in force and motion.

I'm still non the wiser in respect of the content difference between Maths & Further Maths. I've read that further maths is more for those who want to work in finance or engineering, & thought it would be nice to hear someone's opinion on the two in terms of content - there's nothing of that here. I'll just download a few past papers for each and see for myself. Not enough explanation on here.
