I picked the same a levels as you lol, im in yr11 rn and Im really good at maths and computer science (im also doing further maths for gsce) but im so bad at physics but hopefully it'll turn out all good

@BusterFortnite Yes, absolutely! Your A level options are highly respected by unis! Especially if you do well. Don't underestimate Maths & CS btw. Just because you're good in GSCEs doesn't mean the same will be expected for A levels! Prove me wrong champ (there's your motivation) 😎💪🏽

im currently taking maths further maths physics and chemistry, but i want to drop chemistry as i am really enjoying fm but not doing well in chemistry. I want to go on to engineering - do you think it is fine to drop chemistry and will universities take maths and fm into as one subject?

Hey, sorry for the late reply! Yes, it should be completely fine depending on the type of engineering you want to get into (e.g. some unis may require chemistry for chemical engineering), however generally speaking it's okay. Also unis consider FM and maths as 2 seperate A levels. FM is a very respectable A level option :)

@@vaishthamansiritharan4971 you won’t know how difficult it is unless you try! No A-level is “easy” imo and if I let the difficulty of the A-levels determine my choice of subjects I wouldn’t have picked FM (or even 4 A-levels). With that being said, choose the subjects you genuinely enjoy the most. I say take into account difficulty if ur choosing a subject that you don’t need for uni! Otherwise if u enjoy Maths, chem & physics the most choose them - and adjust your work ethic and revision schedule based on their difficulty!

This was actually my initial plan. I was planning to take Maths, Physics and CompSci & Further maths as an AS (meaning I’d only study FM in y12). My teacher advised not doing this since AS level isn’t as useful for uni applications. They’re mainly good for UCAS points only. If you were planning to choose FM in y12 and then drop it in y13, I’d recommend only dropping it if you feel that 4 A-levels is too demanding (once you’ve at least started FM) & you are struggling with the FM content (which is okay). Otherwise for engineering I’d recommend choosing it and keeping it for y13. It’ll help you so much with your engineering experience! Hope this helps, and all the best!!!🙏🏽
