Hi Alan, does this apply to AQA A-level Politics too? The question structure is different but I presume the concepts are the same

Hi - would the differences in regional parties be structural? And how would you explain this (the question is the differences between the party systems and one of my points is how uk has more regional 3rd parties that are successful). Thank you

My first instinct is that this is cultural (linked to groups) as about parties, there could be regional parties in the US (in the past the Democrats were the party of the South and Republicans the party of the North- 1860). However you could definitely look at this as structural as you could argue that it is the structure of the UK with the different nations that leads to there being the SNP etc.

the rational theory doesn't work when thinking about how trump and boris got in? nice to see your political views. thanks for the video though.

he didn't say anything about his own politics, just mentioned that the rational theory might not apply in the case of Trump and Johnson since people voted for them even though their policies might not benefit them, so one of the other theories might explain it better

@@emilyb7041 hes saying that their not rational, so yes hes showing his political stance. im just here for the video for revision and don't really care, just though i'de comment it anyway. but no, people voted for trump and johnson for rational reasons because they would benefit them. your crazy if you think hes not showing his political views... its blood obvious... i mean come on...

@@emilyb7041 i watch this guys videos all the time and he always says little remarks that show this politican viewpoint, i could give you many many many more examples throughout his other videos, this isnt the only one. seriously though did you really not get his joke? it was quite funny tbf on him (about rational theory not applying to boris/trump).
