Another productive trip of speckled trout fishing in Florida Bay, out of Flamingo Marina, Everglades National Park.
If you believe what the weather forecasters say, the wind on this day should have been at 5mph all day long. Not! It was blowing at 10-15mph all day (apologies for the wind noise you'll hear in the video). At least one boater changed their mind to fish the the inside after backing their trailer down the outside's ramp. That was probably a good decision given that craft's freeboard, especially if they wanted an enjoyable fishing trip....
I fished 5 different locations on this trip. Only the fourth was productive, where I limited out on speckleds within fifteen or so minutes. As the day continued, the wind churned the flats creating lots of muddy water.
Here in south Florida, FWC changed the regs in 2021. In Florida Bay, we now are limited to three fish, 15-19" slot with one speckled per boat that can be over 19" (still counted in the three fish limit per angler).
As always, thanks for joining me on another of my fishing adventures.
Wishing everyone bent rods and tight lines,
~Jim
