you're saying that if I start my SNES up it won't sound exactly like this? 🤔
@troywright3593 жыл бұрын
I think they mean.....the feeling they get from this is like what they felt like as a kid. Because this doesn't sound like the original which is ingrained into my memory.
@roguesquadron5213 жыл бұрын
@@troywright359 You are correct. I know what the real SNES OST sounds like, but to me as a kid the OST might have sounded as grand as this because the game blew me away. I just got the same feelings I did then when listening to this.
@afellowamerican57673 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. As a kid there's no difference between 8 bit and symphonic, its all as good as the rest. Not picky or elitist, just kids hearing the sound embellishing the scenes at play. Simple.

I still play this game even right now and they both sound just like each other. If you play SNES on modern tv or headset, you can hear everything you can hear here. Just very compressed down for obvious reasons. Which is much credit to this man that remakes them

Back in 1995, this game had amazing graphics (Still does). Back when I was a kid, there were only 3 Zelda games, Zelda 1, Zelda 2: AOL, and this. This game was the go-to back in the early 90s.
@psychedelicartistry12 сағат бұрын
There are 2 kinds of 2D Graphics, pixel art and 2.5 what you see with modern games like Metroid: Dread. Both styles are good, but pixel art holds a certain artistic magic that you just don't see in modern VGs.

What I love about this, is that there aren't many extras added. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy some remakes with extras or other new instruments and such added that make it even more epic and refreshing, but this here feels like what the music would have sounded like If they had been able to compose it to this quality for the game back then. I think you can hear how much love you have for the originals, and how much love you put into remaking them.

Nintendo had such amazing music back in the day. Definitely was a huge part of their success.
@MichaelTheRead Жыл бұрын
It has a lot to do with the fact that back then, they had such simplistic "digital instruments" and only so many of them to work with. They had to _really_ get creative to make catchy melodies. That's why they still slap to this day. Those melodies still stand on their own, even when made with completely different "instruments."

This actually brought me to tears. A Link to the past was the first Zelda game I ever played and is so very special to me. To be able to hear what a modern remake might sound like is one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a long time. This is a symphony and a masterpiece.

Dude, I've heard COUNTLESS remasters, but you're on another level. You absolutely nail the principle; total respect of the original material, modern technique, perfect choice of instrumentation, you never overdo it or add unnecessary things. I don't know how you feel about Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger, but I seriously hope you plan on tackling these. You probably would be one of the first to be able to pull off something decent. Whatever the fuck you will do in the future anyway, I'll be psyched to check it out.

Really? You went back as an adult and were disappointed by how the original sounded? You suddenly heard only limitations and restrictions instead of wonder and magic like you do here? The original is FAR better. But this is a nice effort
@davehugstrees3 жыл бұрын
@@troywright359 The original score is a masterpiece, but clearly limited by the technology of the SNES. In this version you can hear the instrumental tracks as they are intended to be heard. Compare the harp in the intro to the 16-bit sample of a harp in the original. I mean, I like the sound of the S-SMP but let’s not have nostalgia blinders about how great real instrumental compositions sound.
@troywright3593 жыл бұрын
@@davehugstrees 'intended' to be heard? No, the original soundtrack has a style to it. It's not hampered at all, which is why for Four Sword Adventures on the GB, they revisited this snes style for the soundtrack as it was heavily influenced on the snes ALTTP. They had technology to have all orchestral real life instruments, but they CHOOSE not to, and it didn't hinder them there either. Point being, original kicks ass, but you can prefer the knock off remakes if you like

I always liked how the sword looked in the art. (Aside from that goofy hand guard lol) I always liked how busted up the actual sword is. I feel like that gives it life in a way. Also the hilt looks really nice to me, with the brown bandages and gold accent at the end. It's nice seeing the master sword in a diffrent light.

You made it sound better than the best track in the game in my (and A LOT of gamers' opinions) and that's the track right after it (Dark Mountain Forest). You should've looped and emphasized the part at 12:39-12:45 more and possibly enhanced it if you could using whatever method that you use to do that. I know that I'm nit picking but just offering some constructive criticism.
