When I throw out those 2 lowest and highest pairs, the AVERAGE of the remaining 11 is 374 and 711. What in the world did this test tell me about my iMac?! I obviously missed something or most likely am ignorant of this subject matter.....if let's say I get a comp like your desktop studio with silicon..... and I now want to take my Time Machine that I used on my IMac intel and restore data from that onto the new studio 2....am I correct to think that I CANNOT use my time machines to do that....if so, than what is the point of TimeMachine?
Oh dear. I recently was forced to update my OS to Ventura - my imac is a 3ghz quad core intel core i5 - it has slowed to a crawl and the results are 62.6 write and 85.3 read. Very frustrating because apart from an airdrop issue with my phone-mac everything was tickerty boo before the upgrade. I had to buy a new Office for Mac for Ventrua (one time install) - is it worth trying to get that transferred to a new Mac because of the advice given to upgrade?

MBP Retina 15”, Mid 2015, 2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, 1170 Write & 1810 Read. Hope that helps your research. Guess I’ll be keeping this one EXCEPT FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO UPGRADE OS. When I tried to upgrade from Big Sur to Monterey (which apple said was ok for my hardware), My USB ports quit working. I have a couple USB devices for backup and for reading an old camera I have, that would not work on either of two my USB ports. So luckily I had a Time Machine backup that I somehow got reverted back to working USB’s on Big Sur which I’m typing on now. I like this Mac. No more Windows for me. It’s the first I ever owned and it was given to me by my Son-in-Law. I’ve grown to like it and would like to keep it. But what bothers me is Apple says this will work on the newer OS (monterey at the time). I’d like to keep as up to date as I can and be able to do some of the newer enhancements as they come along. Can you PLEASE help me? You offered to do so for something else long ago but I wouldn’t let you . Maybe you can now? When your not so busy. You can delete this long comment if you want.
