thanks for this..my 6l80 has been haunting me in my nightmares at this point. i’m unsure if it’s related but upon watching this video of yours i noticed a similarity… i have a harsh 3-4 shift (this is what brought me here) - i also have very slightly delayed drive & reverse … the kicker is …. i have 4 trans codes …… they are - - TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SWITCH 1 CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE - TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SWITCH 3 CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE - TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SWITCH 4 CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE - TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SWITCH 5 CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE all of the same switches that you show as having broken seals in your video…. maybe unrelated … but that’s unlikely. no such thing as coincidence. ill keep wracking my brain. & learning along the way. i am a first timer with this auto repair… i figure no better way to learn than on my 2007 gmc yukon denali 6.2 that’s on a last leg anyway so i can only really make things better at this point … & gain some knowledge too. & for what it’s worth - as someone with autism & other learning disabilities which make understanding/comprehension & retention very, very difficult - i wanted you to know that you absolutely do have a natural ability to teach & in a way in which even someone like me can follow the lesson & understand .. & that is extremely hard to do on a general basis for me … so for something that i’ve been so dedicated to figuring out, solving & repairing … your videos are a breath of fresh air.

Man I’ve got 3500 in a still broken 6l80 🤦🏾♂️ I now need the tehcum so 600+ more to get it back working and hopefully no issues…. I hear GM has a class action behind these transmissions but my vehicle is a swap car I most likely won’t see a dime or get anything fixed for free 🤦🏾♂️

I have a 6L80 in my 08 Ls3 Corvette and I like racing it once in a while. It runs great at the track but for a few years now while cruising spiritedly it likes to over rev as it enters 4th gear. For years I have been living with this thinking it's the clutches might need to be replaced. I have always been doctoring it up with Hp Tuners but never solving the problem. Finally I have increase the torque inertia up to 2.0 from 1 on just 4th gear. The first 3 gears were hitting harder but the 4th gear was even worse. Real bad. Then after about 20 minutes of relearn and doing some rapid paddle shifting back and forth from 3rd to 4th it starting shifting like brand new!. Thanks for the vid. Reaffirms my thinking It's a valve body problem if it ever slips entering 4th again. These transmissions are as over complicated as a F-35 lightning! Thank goodness the previous owner had it tuned and the tuner had turned off VVT and everything else that would have kept the clutches and converter churning into dust even while cruising.

I always replace the films as a matter of overhaul. The PCS's give a response to the TECHM so cleaning with electronic contact cleaner keeps the open resistance consistent. BTW your 35R leak tool was the best money I've spent in years!

I just saw your video you made an hour ago. Don't let ignorant assholes who may comment get you down and make you stop making videos. I just rebuilt my 6l80 out of my 2011 suburban and if it wasn't for videos like yours and a few others on KZbin, I never would've been able to. Or it wouldn't have worked. Guess what. Got over 250 miles on it and working good. Thank you for your Desire to help me. You have helped me. Your KZbin community needs you and any haters are just pathetic idiots with no life who pretend they know more than you, but have no common sense and can't rebuild a transmission themselves or they wouldn't have to watch your videos. Keep going, ignore the idiots. They get you down is their goal, and what they want. Don't let them win, they don't deserve a response.

Can you spray break cleaner in there and use air compressor to clean it? Or is it too delicate for that type of cleaning? Is there a recommended way to take it apart and clean?

love seeing these 6l80 videos. i have 6l90 in myy 08 suburban. trying to figure out why it sometimes flare shifts from 3rd to 4th.

Reset/preset adaptives. if that doesn't work.... add 10 psi to the 3-4 oncoming pressure.

I know this is a two year old comment, but I've got a 3-4 flare on my G8. I bought the sonnax kit to repair these as I have two codes corresponding with pressure switch issues.

Hello! Is there anyone I could buy one of your homemade testers for the switches🙏

Would there be a solenoid issue in TChM of truck doesn’t register neutral on dash indicator? Neutral is there but when you click from reverse into neutral the dash indicator goes from R to D skipping neutral.
@mrflinstone25532 жыл бұрын
Sounds like internal mode range sensor. My 07 would go into limp mode & if i clear the codes it will drive normal & you can see the indicator light under the P R N D M

Did you ohm them out to see if any of the solenoids were bad or were they all reading around .5 I ask cause I have one that’s shooting up to 30.05 after breaking the connection with the switch . It’s solenoid five the clutch pressure control solenoid and I think the tcc pressure was throwing some weird numbers as well . But I got the p0741 tcc solenoid stuck off and trans went to fail safe I had to limp it home with my scanner using hp tuners. Which in my ASE 6l80 book that’s the death code for the techm lol but any thoughts if you get to read this and thank you for the video .

Whenever you overhaul any main control assembly (Valve Body), will you totally disassemble the component (Valves,Springs,Retainers) and clean thoroughly, or do you just leave the assembly together and clean with a detergent and air dry? I’m curious how other builders do their overhaul procedures.
@ironmike7423 жыл бұрын
@@ford_asset_tech9695 Definitely disassemble and clean thoroughly when doing a rebuild or when your inspection finds metal or contamination. Replace gasket and sealing orings/bushings while you are in there
