Quoits! That's a game you don't hear about much today but it takes me back to my childhood about 60 years ago. A very enjoyable, if sometimes frustrating, game 😊

The first picture of the Anchor Hotel was how I remember it as I lived there till I was 9 years old,my dad was the manager but when he died my mam wasn't allowed to run the place so we had to move,I remember the big blue star hanging outside that used to keek me awake when it was windy I think it needed some WD on it.

That such a shame, in the past many women took over the pubs when their husbands died, some even when their Father died. How times changed

I think the Jolly Sailor became a hair dressers for a time over 40 years ago, if I remember right!

I think it was a card shop once too. Might need to compile a list of all the shops/cafes that have been there since it closed as a pub.
