Game Theory, along with its host Matthew ‘MatPat’ Patrick, is a channel that every week takes you on a deep dive behind the lore and the science of your favourite games. I’ve never done a collaboration like this before but it was wonderful to get the chance to work with and promote a smaller, up-and-coming channel. I’ve no doubt you’ll all be hearing about them any day now. I see big things!
In all seriousness though, WOW. As a long-time fan of the theory channels getting to work on this with MatPat and his team was such an honour. This project has been in the works for the longest time and it’s been so hard to keep it a secret for all this time! (Wondering why there are no Style Theory lyrics? That channel didn’t exist when this was written!)
I am so incredibly grateful to the whole theory team for this opportunity. In fact, I’m doubly thankful because when I initially pitched this project to them the idea was that I would have the song to publish on my music platforms but that the music video would go to the Game Theory channel. But after work on the project began MatPat said he wanted to find a way to make sure the collaboration benefited my channel as much as possible, instead gifting the full music video to my channel even though it had been entirely edited by the Game Theory team. (Shout out to the wonderfully talented Tyler Mascola!)
So, instead a plan was formulated to feature the music video as part of a larger Theory video whilst the full standalone music video would be here! I cannot express enough my gratitude to Matt and the whole team. Every one of them was a joy to work with as we put this together.

As someone who has watched Game Theory for almost longer than I can remember, who has seen the channel go from one dude in his closet addicted to Diet Coke to a multi-channel network with so many people working together and a truly massive community, this was amazing. All the little references in the video, both in the text and purely the visuals, some so incredibly niche I would never have remembered them on my own but which this unlocked again, just mind blowing. I ended growing out of game theory about five or so years ago, but I watched it pretty much religiously for most of my life, and I remember hearing the news of MatPats retirement and not feeling as bad as I felt I should. This song brought back all that bittersweetness, and now I’m starting to actually cry. Sadly I didn’t find this masterpiece until after watching matpat’s farewell video. It was actually my youngest son who was jamming to it (our whole house loves game theory lol) Me and my husband pulled it up and watched it from the beginning and when I tell you I SOBBED! This song is fantastic! It has so much crammed into it that I keep finding new things every time I see it. It’s a wonderful snippet of game theory and shows exactly what we have all come to love about matpat and this channel. I can’t think of a better way to say goodbye than for us to have this piece of this channel with him that we can all come back to whenever we might feel the need. I’ve since showed my older boys both of who were very upset with me for showing them because it got them right in the feels as well, but that’s what art is supposed to do. Make us feel and this is 100% a work of art! That being said I’ve watched this at least 6 times now and it hits hard Every. Damn. Time… Now if I could just desensitize myself to it enough that I don’t cry when I watch it that would be great 😂 Mat and Steph really owe you a clap and a half for this one! They maybe passing down the mantle but this community will remain and they gave us that ❤

It's not always that Stupendium makes a wholesome bop, but when they do, and _especially_ when it's such wholesome support of another channel that I could not have seen coming a mile away, it always goes hard. The entire song is so feel good, each reference just serving to celebrate Game Theory's history!
