Zack is the reason I bought into the fuji x series. I enjoy his authenticity. His work speaks volumes to who he is as an artist.

Soon as I saw Zack in the title I remembered watching Transform 7 years ago in university.. Glad to see him doing well. I've just finished watching the whole thing. Being one who gave up photography to get into design this looks like the perfect traveling companion for me to reconnect with the art.. No lens swapping no grips no flashes, just a simple tool to carry around to document stuff that I want to remember - and maybe toy around with how I remember it ;) Thank you for keeping my photography ember going.

I am am an X100 series fan. I have owned the X100 and X100S and acquired the X100V briefly until the Nikon Z6II arrived. I then returned the X100V and have been using the Z6II ($1900) as the daily driver paired with either Z24-50 or 50/1.8. The size was a definite drawback to more quick shots especially with the larger lens combinations. However, I recently purchased the Z-28mm/2.8 cupcake lens ($250) and, I have to say, finally have a setup that really suits my daily photo wants/needs and rivals the X100V compactness. The Nikon Z6II with Z 28/F2.8 actually performs better in my intended daily shooting and casual/travel needs than the Fuji X100V. The user settings (U1, U2, U3) allow for faster/more on the fly configuration changes. In addition, the Z6II has a better performing autofocus and video options. To be sure, my preference for the Nikon Z6II as the daily use platform is in part due to my Nikon bias, shooting 20+ years vice Fuji 10+ years and I recently upgraded from Nikon D700 to Z9 as the main body for events/action/work. By having the daily driver as the Z6II, the menu, layout, ergonomics, workflows and storage issues are same/similar and allow similar tactile feels and movements to capture images. That said, the X100V (and the X100 series), produce the best JPEGs for immediate use in my opinion. Love the color spread. While I love the Fujifilm X100V for what it is and what it does, I finally have a Nikon full format solution that better meets my day to day needs and provides greater creativity options (although at a greater cost/investment). Just my $0.02 🙂

The ND filter is not in the other cameras because on the X100 series the filter is built into the lens. Also, the L ISO setting does not improve the IQ. It is nothing more than a 1-stop digital ND filter and while only 1 stop it is on all other Fuji cameras.

Just been enjoying finding your channel today and your videos....watched Zack in India some time ago and loved it...Missing India at this time! Amazed this video has so few views...having X100v in the title might bring more people to it. Is it possible to change a video's title on KZbin? :)

That's a great point and one that is pretty y obvious. Honestly, I am not sure how that escaped my brain when I was titling the live stream! Thanks! I'll change it now.

Matt and Zack great video, I see you are both rockin the classic silver version. In your experiences, why do you guys prefer the silver over the black version for your uses. What are your thoughts?
@MattBrandon
@MattBrandon 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan, if you watch my video review of the camera you will see I used the all-black version. When it came to ordering it I went with the silver as it is so classic looking. BUT with that said, I regret it now. I wish I had gotten the black. The black was even more subtle and discrete. I also feel the black might hold up over time. Frankly, I expected the same silver that the old X100 camera in, it was not. The old one was darker almost a gunmetal. Oh well, live, and learn.

The X100V is simply the most “creative” camera I’ve ever owned. It’s a permanent fixture with me on any editorial jobs. A wonderful tool.

It certainly does add to my creativity. I am just putting the final edits on a very complicated multi episode travel photography tutorial with my buddy Piet Van den Eynde. He used the GFX100 and I use the X100V the whole time. I never felt I was wanting more.
