LIVE: A look X100v and how I process its RAW files.

Fujifilm Malaysia asked me to do a live stream about the new X100V. They wanted me to share my thoughts on how I used it, how it preformed and more. Then process a few images. So that is what this live stream is going to cover. Feel free to join in and ask questions along the way.

My X100V should be arriving in the early stages of next week. I had the F variant and absolutely fell in love, but then unfortunately fell into hard times and had to sell. awesome presentation matt thanks stunning imagery throughout. I'm a x100 series user currently on the f fighting the urge to go v the majority of the stills on my chan are shot with the f it never fails to impress me which means I still have a bit of fight left in me......

Hi Matt, gorgeous photos and thanks for taking the time to go through your process. I do however wonder about the fact that you keep mentioning Fuji colors when your base Lightroom profile for all the editing is Adobe Color. You are basically editing Adobe’s own calibration.

In the market for this camera. Would you say that the edges on the new aluminum finish on the black version is less prone to scratching off after a few years of use? I take care of my gear but this is the only thing holding me from getting the black over the silver.

IIf the only thing keeping you from the black is scratched, get the black. I've had my X-pro 2 for years with very little wear, I think it would be fine. Frankly, I'd be more concern for the silver than the black. I wish I had bought the black instead. Buy the black and I'll trade you! ;-)

Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority or Manual? Don't think you mentioned it. Also Auto ISO or manual?

Depends on the moment. Mostly, I shoot Aperture Priority. Though more and more manual.

Any issues with the X-trans images in Lightroom as it doesn't interpolate the data correctly.

I'm curious... why Aluminum instead of Magnesium Alloy? As I understand it, when properly treated and heated during casting, Mag Alloy is 30% lighter than Aluminum while having a greater strength to weight ratio.... so was it simply to reduce cost of manufacturing and make a greater profit?

apougeoise i use off camera flash. Such as the Godox AD 200 and the AD 400.

​@@MortenRasmussen Hi Morten, the X100 series has always great HSS as they use a leaf shutter. The X100v can synchronize with a flash all the way up it's maximum shutter speed. At f/2 maximum shutter speed is 1/2000s at f/4.5 maximum shutter speed is 1/4000s and the flash will sync with no issues. The main issue with a leaf shutter is that they just don't have super-fast shutter speeds.
