aTrippyFarmer and his family are back to bring you more farming adventures! In this episode, Andy and the crew are gearing up to cut some soybeans at full speed. With a limited window presented by mother nature, they are going to move the John Deere fleet over a few counties to a large farm that is new this season. They send all of the horses that direction and dive into the crop. Much to their surprise, these soybeans are struggling to reach an adequate moisture for harvesting. They play the waiting game for a while, and they eventually wave the green flag. The John Deere Harvesting crew cautiously pushes through the soybean crop while paying close attention to the moisture levels. With the moisture and logistical struggles, this big field takes over 2 days to harvest, but the yields are worth the challenge. They move the John Deere Combine and Tractors home and move on to another field. The logistical nightmare is over for the John Deere Harvesting Crew. Thanks for watching!

Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

Yea! Another great video. 40 miles for 200 ac of prime IL farmland....YES. You are certainly the star of the show. Always great content and well delivered but also nice you have a talented supporting cast in Dad and Katie. The ride along was a treat. Right through downtown. At least everyone knows, or should know, when good crops are made, money is spent. Looking forward to the next episode .

We farm on both sides of Effingham, we travel straight down Fayette Ave and turn onto Keller Drive, it take me 45 minutes to get from field to field going through town. Bit if I try and skirt around town ot takes 2.5 hours. Sorry folks we just the up both lanes when it's a 4 lane so no one tries to pass and cause an accident. The combine has lots of blind spots

No we do not go that far south. We certainly would for the right opportunity, but Neoga is about our furthest south locations as of right now.

ya know years ago the mechanical diesels blew smoke and soot and hc into the air. now we spend millions on electronic engines and a $12k box to incinerate the soot caught in the dpf. then we take the filter to a specialist to wash it out and put the soot into our water system. tell me where did we improve after spending all that money?

Id rather take 15% beans to town that 9% or 10% id rather wait till 14.5 or so but at 15 I'll be cutting, cut enough early at 10% to know we lost a lot there from the sickle, amazed the difference we saw cutting beans at 10 am to about 4pm had field was noticeable to a t. It's us maybe take wetter beans in. We usually bin first load or mix them on 2 trucks

This isn't that type of ground. I would rate it around a 7/10 in terms of productivity. It isn't the best, but it is far from the worse. You aren't even close on the cash rents. It would easily have a 5 in front of it. 500-600.

Wow, you're 3 wks behind on the videos.. Oct. 20.. lol. And in 3 more days up here in LaSalle co. Oct 24-25 we got 5" of rain that kept us out of the field 13 days before we finish our last 50 acres of corn..

@@aTrippyFarmer Yeah I didn't need that "Wow" in there, I know how the long work days are, I don't even have time to look at videos until we get rain days. Can't imagine spending another couple hrs editing the filmed clips. Yours and the Alabama guy are the No. 1 and 2 to check out first.
