Today is the big day! After almost a week of waiting and a large financial investment from John Deere, aTrippyFarmer's New John Deere 780 combine finally returns home to rejoin the harvesting fleet. The repair process was completed without too much trouble, other than securing the parts and towing the combine out of the field. Andy and his family are gifted some great weather to test the combine out in, with large acreages of soybeans being ready to cut. After a few hoppers have been cut, it seems that the machine is going to run without fail. Both combines are summoned to the field to devour the acres. The crew pushes on until they eventually catch the grain trucks due to backups at the local elevators. Andy stops by and visits some loyal viewers to pass the time, just to be overwhelmed with trucks upon his return. aTrippyFarmer pushes into the night and flies the drone to capture some incredible views of soybean harvest at night. Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. I still see a 12 row folding cornhead in your future. Folds narrower than 8 row for going down roads, makes opening fields so much faster, running 5mph will keep you in the grain cart going non stop if you can keep up, gives you extra person for the 3rd semi. Our salesman brought out a 712 last fall and left it there for 500 acres of demo, he knew he had a sale without even saying anything... LOL

When you're checking those cart straps do you also check that the PTO shaft/shafts are securely locked in place also? We had a PTO head come off once on a 30 mile trip and it took forever to retrace the trip and find it.

Combining must be aplicable to all harvesting done with a combine. Cutting is specific to beans and other small grains that are CUT by a sickle. And then it must be picking corn :p
