A London Marathon - Week 8 of my weekly poems for The Independent online newspaper.

London is a very long drive from where I live, so I try to fit a few appointments into my day there - before driving home at night, sometimes after a really lovely evening although not always eating oysters. And it feels like a marathon, but the joy of waking up at home with dogs and owls in the morning is worth it. This week's marathon was the week the Sycamore Gap tree was felled.
