Love this!!! This game looks amazing. I have been designing a dungeon in a deck for some time (very different to this) and this game is solving some of the problems derived from having few components in a brilliant way. Stright away on my shopping list. Thanks a lot!!

Fantastic game and yep, great to throw in your backpack. I got it over a year ago and still pull it out to kill time and go on a mini adventure. Glad you got this one on the channel Daniel to let more people know about it.

Somehow gives me the feeling of Heroquest (the new app is pretty good too)! Probably something to do with its simplicity & focus on dungeon exploration , a test / combat system that is based on the number of dice. HQ is also using same monster models / cards to represent different monsters based on different scenarios!

It's a good review of what i hoped would be a neat solo game. i didnt love that you really have to play 2 characters and honestly i couldnt really understand the rules via reading the book and never really saw any replies from the designer on bgg when people had rules questions so i kind of threw it back on the shelf. But your review has inspired me to dust it off and give it another try, so cheers to that.

Great game and great review. I too would disagree with you on only buying a single box as the character combinations with weapons and skills is improved with the additional box. I also like the ability to use both sides of the dungeon cards as there is a setting in the app that you can select 2 deck so it knows that the flip side of an already used card can be generated when exploring. I do hope for an expansion that could add travel events and maybe magical enhancements for the weapons that can give additional bonuses (slotted behind the character or equipment card and exposing the bonus in the gap between those cards), as well as different enemies. One thing you didn’t mention in the review was the special abilities some of the enemies have that can Syphon the player’s energy when you get too close. It really does pack so much into a small box (or two) and get so much of it right. It’s amazing.

Great review! I agree with you that the game does so many cool things! …I will disagree with you about picking up the second box, however, It gives you the ability to play with more heroes, have bigger dungeons, character combinations within the party and weapon and skill combinations also…more treasure etc… it does add to your overall experience and admittedly being able to take a game to its full potential might be one of my personal quirks! 😅

What a great review Daniel. Looks really nice game. Do you think buying two boxes, even if I play solo I can have more rooms to design my dungeon, more enemies to battle and more loots to find? Do you think it worth it?

It’s just the retail release. It’s a complete game for a small simple fast dungeon crawl.

I'm not paying another $24 to play 4 players. I don't care if it's frowned upon but I bought a pile of D6s to match the monsters in color and amount. I then used the copier function on my printer to copy all of the cards onto card stock. I then sleeved everything. It's a great game, it's not worth $48 just to play with friends.

@@TheDungeonDive I am with at least 3 friends every weekend. We play MTG mostly but we play other games as well. So 4 players is reasonable for me. My issue is their pricing. They should lower the price of the current box and make a bigger one for 4 players. I haven't seen anything tangible for an expansion of the game either.

Those dungeon tiles look great. How large is the grid on the tiles? I would like to use the tiles for other games or to use D&D miniatures for the heroes, but the grid needs to be around 1 inch to work.

This is untrue. There is nothing locked away by only using one deck. Just want to make sure this is clear for other viewers.

With one deck, you do not have access to certain tiles when generating dungeons, you do not have access to certain character/weapon/skill combinations, you don't have access to certain party configurations, and you don't have access to certain monster combinations showing up.

There are more options in combinations, but nothing is locked away. You get everything made for the retail game in a single deck. And a single deck is a complete game.

@@TheDungeonDive I mean technically you get "everything" in a single deck, but you are unable to use most of it in conjunction with each other. That's a huge flaw in the game IMO. If anyone is serious about this game, 2 decks is essential. To say otherwise is disingenuous. Why else would the app give you the option to specify 1 deck vs 2?
