Cammy I just love your channel! You and Lizzie have become quite a team along with your boys in apprenticeship alongside of you. I laugh when I see how comfortable Jock is out there and amongst the sheep. My favourite Jock video was when you had the sheep indoors and they had all those lambs and Jock was walking there amongst them and the lambs were going to him and he was greeting them all like they were old friends. What a wonderful way to raise kids, right in there amongst everything, it becomes so natural for them. Like starting a bike! 😂. Please tell your mom hello and tell her thank you for having such a lovely son that’s so hard working, full of laughs, is a dedicated farmer and is kind enough to share his farming life with the world. I was a farm kid and I was "driving a tractor" at 5 - my father would put it in gear as I was to short to reach and would use the rev's to go faster or slower - I was the driver to put the irrigation out in the summer

Our son was riding our 4 wheeler at dare i say it not much older than Jock, but he couldn't get out of first gear, he would put it in, until his legs were longer, which was at 3 to 4 years of age.

There is an old video on the channel featuring lizzie I believe it was actually a livestream called Women In Agriculture she talks about her life a more recent interview though she was on his new podcast Fed By Farmers recently it was the second episode. I found her story super interesting the podcast is similar to what she talked about in the live so I would choose one (I watched both though) and if you listen to the podcast you will be aware of the news that she revealed of what is to come

we have a golf cart on our farm, and the neighbor kid not much older then Jock pretty quickly figured it out. We had to take out the key when he was coming by.

We have been using footvax for 10 odd years, ewe lambs get a double jag of footvax 6 weeks apart with the 2nd jag the day the teaser ram goes out if that makes sense. Never seemed to do them any harm still scan ok.

More to the question, what’s your favourite and why. Suffolk’s are flighty buggers, for a quiet nature, I love the Wiltshire. But I guess, a lot depends on the interaction with flocks as to how calm they will be. That and the nature. Breeding for meat a whole other question.

QUESTION: How come Sandi lambs like 3 to 4 times a year but a lot of you guys that i watch overseas only lamb once a year? Is it bc your sheep are outdoors? Does that even make a difference? Yeah majnly because our sheep Are outdoors and also the breeds we use here. Sandi’s sheep are extra fertile and can lamb more often 👍

Also, Sandi’s spreads out her breeding groups over the course of the year for the sake of maintaining a fairly consistent population in the barns. Outdoor sheep farmers like Cammy run a once-and-done system, when the ewes are all naturally in season. Both management systems have pros/cons, and both styles of farmer sure have their hands full! 🐑
