The green wire in the main motherboard connector is the PSU-ON trigger. Connect the green wire to ground (any black wire on the connector) and the PSU will turn on. Some supplies require a minimum load to work properly

In the supply for the Jalapeño, keep the Taicon mains filter cap and replace the others; use a tantalum cap for the smallest one if you can.

I ordered mine directly from Atmel's website and there are a few tutorials on the bitcoin forum, check for the "how to flash your jalapeno to 8GH/s" or something like that. You could use a water block if you wanted, you would probably need to make your own holding plate though

Any reason I get 6.6 - 6.7GH/s on average from the Jalapeno? someone said I might have a chip more working than others but you say they only have 2 ASIC chips so that was complete crap. Is there anyway to flash the firmware without a programmer? like from my PC (w7)?

Have you taken off the heatsink on the little single, what type of mounting does it use? I'm thinking for a max-quiet config, I might grab a Swiftech H220 and mod the BFL case when I (eventually) get mine.

Great video and thanks for sharing! I'd say the best company out there is the one that's cranking the most amount of BTC on your table.... I know people don't want to hear it but it's true. You should've definitely been paying in cash and not Bit though for those units though!

Is the equation still fruitful for mining? As difficulty continues, what pool should I use?
@008626
@008626 11 жыл бұрын
Buying new hardware has become an increasingly risky gamble. Most devices available have iffy returns compared to just buying coins and holding them. Pools are easy though, there's a whole section dedicated to pools on the bitcointalk forum and they all have their various perks and features.

Richard Brügemann I can't honestly recommend them after they delayed shipment of their 65nm products for over 10 months without really giving answers as to why, their PR was terrible and support is still minimal at best. They had a similar failure on their original FPGA based hardware. Maybe 28nm will be a smoother ride but I can't know the future. Will it be profitable? Well you will probably get some money back but depending on how fast difficulty goes up you may be better off just buying coins instead.

The difficulty will decrease if the global net mining rate decreases to the point where blocks are found more than 10 minutes apart on average. Difficulty will stabilize around the cost of electricity for the majority of bitcoin mining equipment. As companies release more efficient asic miners, you can expect an increase in difficulty as a result
@MrAkwfung
@MrAkwfung 11 жыл бұрын
Good stuff Photon. Just a few of questions: 1. How much do you spend (electric bill, etc. ) every week to make 1/2 BTC? 3. How much electricity (kwh) do you think you burn weekly? 3. Do you use a pool, or are you on your own? 4. What do you think of cloud mining? TIA
@008626
@008626 11 жыл бұрын
I don't make that much anymore, at current difficulty the little single and jalapeno generate 0.22526231 BTC per week and steadily decreasing. The miners burn about 36 KWH per week, or about $5.48 where I live. So it's still pretty good profit wise. I pool mine; mining a block solo would take over two years on average. Cloud mining is risky imo, I prefer to have control over my own hardware.

Hello kind sir. Could you please tell me the Bitcoin production rate per day, now days, for the Little Single ? I am pretty close to buying one just like this ( same model ) for 500 Euros, but I wanna know if it's worth the money.
@008626
@008626 11 жыл бұрын
At current difficulty, a little single (25GH/s nominal) will mine approximately 0.00573087 BTC per day. This amount will likely decrease by 20-30% every 10-14 days. Total mined value from a little single is probably not more than $400 until it reaches end of life.

OK, for someone who is a hard core miner, you knew what you were getting into with this. They are working from easy to difficult builds (aka. Jalapenos to the current monarch). They have a staff of 55. Lay off, you bought it, stop complaining. You got what you asked for and I would love for you to find another manufacturer and find that everyone is having the same issue along ALL manufactures.

I wouldn't recommend buying any mining machines anymore, if any company is selling any in stock, they won't ever make the coins back that you spend to buy them. Other companies are taking preorders and you won't get your machine until it's obsolete. It's a joke anymore. That said Bitcoin is still a great system of payments; the free money point is gone though. Better to just buy some coins and hold on to em for a year or two
