A Look at the May 15, 2017 Rockford, IL Area Large Hail Storm

Late afternoon into early evening on Monday saw a potent storm in far northern Illinois that produced a swath of large hail in Winnebago County, particularly on the northern side of Rockford. Hail lasted in some places over ten minutes. This graphical loop shows radar imagery from that time depicting the impressive core of large hail.
