does every ns man get a headset along with their helmet? if not there is no advantages to the high cut helmet (other than a little bit of more hearing) and a bigger disadvantage of much less protection on the side

@@EricK-mj7kr yes but i think that the only reason why SOFs use high cut helmets is for ear communication devices because they need it as special operations. Standard soldiers however i don’t think need it as much

@@lelbra SOFs don't stand around in fortified positions to get hit like infantry does. The only time they need armor is when they need to do assaults. The rest of the time they are supposed to be ghosts.

Nowadays, the vanguard units will be Loitering surveillance drones, Remote or Autonomous swarm drone launch vehicles, remote or autonomous IFV robot with cannon, 155mm artillery, 250mm howitzer, drone bombers with soldiers in support role. Won't get to use their small arms if faced with 5th or below generation armies. 😂❤

For the record, Colt IAR was adopted by USMC since 2010. Using COE rules, this rifle would already reached end of extended five year COE, so it's only new to us, in 2024.

Wrong gun. That's the M27 IAR, which is based on the HK416. Colt IAR was outright rejected for the M27 IAR. In fact, the Ultimax 100 had improvements made to challenge the M27 but even that lost too

@@Wanucho The M27 uses a short-stroke gas piston system, which is considered to be cleaner and more reliable than the direct impingement system used in the Colt IAR. I have two questions, why choose a rejected Colt IAR and why Ultimax 100 Mk9 or 8 not selected even though much were spent in R&D of the weapon, in other words even our own don't support local production, how do we expect it has a market internationally?

@@EricK-mj7kr @EricK-mj7kr maybe Singaporeans just don't like their eyeballs very much. In almost every US army live fire course I can find footage of the soldiers are wearing safety glasses. That goes for European armies too. Every former soldier I know that deployed to combat had glasses or goggles in combat. Every 3gun, 2gun, and IPSC shooter wears glasses. There are so many things that can hit you in the eye, in combat or at the range. Why be so stupid as to not protect them?

I was an Ultimate 100 (SAW) gunner in the army. I can easily hit the target 300 meters away (provided you can handle the rifle well); but don’t like the rifle too long, and the both sides exposed design of the entire barrel can easily burn your fingers if you are not careful. Don’t know this new rifle how much better vs the Ultimate 100 ?

If it works, it works. The AR15 platform is very popular because it just works. HK416, M4 are all based on the M16.
