The reason they included the candies in the boxes has to do with a strange loophole in the Japanese system! Apparently, when toys are being packaged, the little candies allow them to be sold as a "food with prize" item, avoiding a tax that would have been placed on them otherwise if the candy wasn't there! So in the eyes of Bandai, you were paying 200 yen for the candy and the plush was just a little bonus!

Fun fact - The ramune candy in Bandai's candy toy (or Shokugan) line are so they can be sold in Japanese grocery stores in the candy and sweets aisle. So that means these Kirby plushes used to be sold in supermarkets. Interesting, no?

I got mine around a year ago off Yahoo Japan Auctions tagged for a little under $40, so you can still find him for decently cheap! I see him go for way too much on US eBay, but I'm sure you'll be able to find one eventually! He was sold both in Japan and at Nintendo World in New York during the late 2000s, so he wasn't super limited or anything. Good luck finding one!!

These plush videos make me feel so warm inside. Thanks for showing them; I really need Kirby plushes now! Also, just wondering if you've heard of the Kirby card game Kirby no Koptoru and the board game Kirby no Sweets Party. The card game has 112 cards and revolves around Kirby's copy ability while the sweets game revolves around... sweets. Maybe it's something to look at just in case their production stops one day and they become super rare in the future? You can find them on HAL's website. There was also a mysterious arcade game that, if I remember rightly rightly, translates to something like Magical Tower of Medal Land. Not much is known about it though. Still, it sounds intriguing.

The other game sounds interesting, I may pick up a copy sometime cause yeah it'll be super rare eventually. I love all this deep lore obscure merchandise, so all of this is super cool to me. Hmm, unless there was a card game for Kirby's Dream Course as well, this game is listed as being released in 2015 and they have lovely illustrations. I'd post a link right now but I don't think I can do that from the Wii U I'm currently browsing on. XD Perhaps I should properly start a collection. So far, I've only a slightly tattered but much loved Luigi, Yoshi, Koopa and a few Pokémon. :) But yeah, I eagerly await more videos once I've got through some more.

I'm so glad you made a video about these plushes, I love this game, and I really wish I had these, I hope to one day be able to buy at least one of them, though in all honesty, if I'm able to buy all of them I would be pretty happy too. lol I especially like Chuchu, I always liked her since I first played Kirby 3 a long time ago, not only she looked really cute but she was a girl character, and while there are many female characters on Kirby games now, back then that wasn't really the case at all, so it felt really special! I'm not sure about your personal history with the Fire Emblem Series, but I think it would be amazing if you did a video on the only 2 Fire Emblem plushes ever made offically. Included in the Deluxe Pack of Fire Emblem Thracia 776 was a dragon and pegasus plush that have (from what I've seen) received very little coverage despite their legendary status among FE collectors. Of course with more people finding out about these their price would only raise up but I still think they're video worthy.
