The ending is always the best part for me. I especially love the bottom painting. That blue ocean is stunning, reminds me of where i grew up. Love your work!!

Lucky sister to receive such a lovely variety of art supplies. 😊

She's happy to pay for them - I just get the fun bit of picking them all out for her!!

As always, you work those supplies hard and come up with such textured and "fun" (if you know what I mean?🤔) pieces. Cheers!

I haven’t been able to get my hands on the shuttle art sticks here, so if you think she’d like them they’d be a good one. Everything is expensive here so I’m sure she’ll be happy whatever you choose!!

I'm currently exploring an alternative... stay tuned!

On holiday in Australia?!
@awatercolouristАй бұрын
@@helencryer If I’m ever lucky enough to go to Australia It will be permanently. Only problem is, every time I consider getting serious about immigration to Australia the internet kindly serves me a video with big, fat, juicy Australian spider *🕷️ 😱. EVERY TIME. At this point I think the universe is trying to tell me something. Not sure what, though. *The spiders seem to get bigger and bigger with every video. In the last one, the spider was the size of a 3-month kitten 😭.

Looks like you'd better stay in Britain then, even if you keep to Aussie time... (though to be fair a pretty massive spider ambled over my duvet close to my face, only yesterday!)
@helencryerАй бұрын
P.S. My Dad spent a big chunk of his childhood in Australia, and their garage was made from an abandoned termite nest. Maybe it's not the spiders you need to be worrying about? 😁

@@helencryer What’s on Earth made you think I’m in good ol’ Blighty?! I’m not - brace yourself - even British! Now there’s a country I’d LOVE to return to. I miss walking home in the biting cold and I miss the dreary grey skies. I miss the rolling landscape. I don’t miss London. But I do miss autumn and your hiyas 👋. I miss the woods. But most of all, I miss the biting cold.

Art supplies in NZ are soooo overpriced! I live in NZ too, so I know. I wish I had someone to send me W&N artists watercolours, their prices here are insane!
@riverAmazonNZАй бұрын
So expensive 😭😭😭
@helencryerАй бұрын
If you see something online over here, you'd like me to get and send, let me know. You'd have to figure out how much the postage rates, insurance/tracking etc are, on the Royal Mail website, and if it's not prohibitive.
@riverAmazonNZАй бұрын
@@helencryer that’s so nice of you! In my experience postage is quite a lot. It’s a big pain. Downside of living on an island, everything needs to be imported.
@zenlife1200Ай бұрын
@@riverAmazonNZ I agree about the postage being expensive in both directions. I'm in New Zealand too. Postage is ridiculous in general. I live in the Waikato and I can get art supplies sent overnight from The Drawing Room in Christchurch but anything on my own island from Hamilton or Auckland takes a few days and I'm only half an hour's drive from Hamilton😂 I shop at Gordon Harris, Hobbyland, The Drawing Room, The Ribbon Rose and sometimes Lincraft. Are there any other good stores that I don't know about? I forgot Takapuna art supplies. I think the Art shed in Tauranga is gone now.
@riverAmazonNZАй бұрын
@@zenlife1200 those are all the places I shop at too. Anything else I get from overseas but only if nobody sells it locally. There’s more available than there used to be, at least!
