I am a life long Steeler fan, (I'm 74 years old) and I have seen a lot of very bad Steeler teams and a lot of very good Steeler teams. I remember Terry Hanratty, Joe Gilliam, Bubby Brister, Neil O,Donnell, Kordell Stewart, Terry Bradshaw, and Ben Roethlisberger. Then again, Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, and Mason Rudolph. It is my educated opinion that Mason Rudolph is more like Ben and Terry than the rest. He has an All Pro Arm, size, humble, a leader, and he has the locker room. Sign him long term and do not look back. He is our starter.

@@Murphaderf I agree with your last sentence. As for the second sentence, there was plenty. He played well for several games right after Ben tore his elbow. When he was concussed in Baltimore, he came back shaky and with happy feet and was quickly benched for Duck. That was a mistake and I've always felt that way. Also in 2020 he almost beat a surging Browns team in the last game of the year which would've kept them out of the playoffs. The very next week, those same Browns without their HC dismantled Ben and the Steelers. Ive always thought that Mason never got a fair chance. So, yes there was a lot there, just no one saw it...even you. Which leads me to believe that you are one of the 99% that you speak of in your last sentence.

The way he prepared for 6 years, every game as though he was starting has absolutely paid dividends. The way he speaks to the media, so incredibly humble and thankful. The way he speaks of his team, everyone's effort show's me that he's more of a pro than the other two QB's on this roster. Decisions he made on the field, like stepping UP into the pocket and looking at his receivers. That is a veteran NFL QB move right there! Trubisky is a hack and needs to go. He'll be lucky to be playing in the CFL or UFL next year. Kenny needs a LOT of work and an attitude adjustment if he has any hope of being an NFL QB. He could learn a lot from Mason.

This is out of left field but I think the video or pictures of Mason Rudolph after he got concussed had some sort of negative effect on Tomlin's attitude towards Mason. I thought since the concussion, the Steelers just overlooked him. I thought he wasnt that bad as a starter and had the tools to be a good quarterback if they were developed. Maybe these couple of games will get him a good contract somewhere

I thought he looked solid in 2019 but man that Earl Thomas hit and the Myles Garrett incident probably messed with his confidence! Doesn’t help that all the guys were aging on offense except juju and dionte

He's been the Steelers best QB for years, including Bens least two with the team. Some reason Mike Tomlin didn't see it that way. Drafted bust QBs and put Turdisky in over him.
