I like your comment about not getting stuck in an echo chamber, simply confirming one's own prejudices. Debating was a skill I enjoyed in school and I feel should be more widely taught. Playing devil's advocate can open the debate a little and reasonable people are able to agree to disagree or perhaps change their opinion a little. It's healthy for society to be able to have different views without fear of being condemned providing it's not doing serious harm to others. Being offended doesn't do anyone serious harm.

I did remove someone's comment recently. It was in the lines of "you're full of nonsense, that's not how you do X ...". I reflected a minute and came to the conclusion that a comment like that adds absolutely nothing to the video or channel. Anyone who would engage with that comment would lose some precious time of their life and get worked up for nothing. Getting worked up about / wrapped up in hypothetical "let's go back in time and redo it after mapping out the potential paths" scenario's. Mental masturbation. I guess we escape to Portugal to get away from it all, to become more at peace. Works out pretty well by going to the markets, traditional events, meeting the neighbors in the street or at the local cafe etc. etc. No time to get into this stuff ;p A lot of friendly chatting and guess what ... None of it is politics. Imagine a time like that.
