The book showed Lyran and Will's relationship grow in a much more detailed light. Roger was Lyra's best friend and they loved each other a lot, but platonically. His death is one of the pivotal plot points for the story, and it was just a part of her destiny. @@n-fotrnd1150

Well... every being had to live in their own universe for their spririt to remain healthy. It hurts to be in the wrong universe too long as Will's father said. And they couldn't travel between wolds because all portals had to be closed up and the knife destroyed so disorder/darkness could not get a chance to emerge from the gaps in the Dust​. So they had to live apart. I hope this clears it up a bit.@@jlordj2660

i love what Phillip Pullman did with this ending. Lyra and Will do represent Adam&Eve. but unlike the biblical characters, Lyra and Will made the ultimate sacrifice to stay apart, leave paradise, and SAVE the universe by preserving the DUST in all the universes, which ironically supposedly represents “evil” according to the magisterium.

After watching this masterpiece, of course i'll cry for a week for their separation. But deep down, His Dark Materials will be one of the masterpiece series's to be encountered💚

This series never got the exposure it deserved, only unnecessary hate. I understand the allegory, but obviously no one is made to think it’s the same as real life. It’s fantasy and details are wildly exaggerated, like many other franchises that use religion as a basis for storytelling. The show is really good, and I’m one of the few people who hoped for the movies to be brought into fruition a long time ago.

They did try to make it a movie years ago!! But now I’m thankful that it failed and we got this TV series instead!! There is no way in a movir trilogy that they could hit you as hard as they do at the end of the TV show!! And I’m sure the producers would’ve been like no no we need to give it a happy ending!!

I watched Golden Compass when I was a child. It felt incomplete with that horrible ending of a movie, and no sequel came of it. Recently found out about this series, and my curiosity is finally done. Beautiful story, great acting, and the plot was just right up my alley. Sighs* cheers to a bittersweet end.

I’m glad the movie they tried to do years ago!! Never went past the first movie!! There is no way through a trilogy of three movies. Could they have pulled off what they did in this TV show!! it is heartbreaking and you still love the story they told you!! That is storytelling!! And with these three seasons, they were able to make that connection there’s no way they could pull that off and three movies!!

It’s crazy the first time I went through the whole season, through all the years!! I was sad, but I didn’t cry!! Then two months later I’ve binged it!! That’s when it came out that’s when I started crying at the end!! it is the most beautiful and heartbreaking ending 🤧🥺😢😭

Usually I don't feel as much when it comes to straight couples so the fact that His Dark Materials managed to just proves how good it was. Probably my favourite books and show. Mrs Coulter is my favourite part of it though.

Oh, I’m sure you’re not alone on that one!! I thought I wasted years after the last season of Game of Thrones!! This show just kept getting better and better, and thankfully, I’ve never written the book and I had no idea how it ends!! so this hit me way harder than I thought it would’ve had I read the book!! After the show I went to other people they’re like oh no, that’s exactly how the book ends!! 🥺😢😭… when a TV show makes you feel into these characters that strongly you have done your job!!
