The 77 Cordova was the only car my stepdad ever bought new. When I got my license he sold it to me. I loved the car, it was white with maroon top, stripe, and of course the Corinthian leather interior. He barrowed it to go shopping and wrecked it. My biggest regret was not being able to get her back on the road

My dad (God rest him!) adored the Cordoba when it was "introduced"! These were GREAT cars (POWERTRAINS) and "sorta" good (unibodies/interiors/etc.) otherwise! The "look" was AWESOME! I believe "the look" was a hybrid of Mercedes/Monte Carlo! This WORKED!

@@johnmaki3046 When my 77 cordoba rusted out, I lucked out years later. An older man was selling his car, a 1979 cordoba, which was garaged in the winter when he wintered down south. It was in mint condition, drove it for a number of years, until it rusted out from the road salt too. Miss those beautiful cars, such class and beauty and very comfortable on trips.

Nice 77 Cordoba! Had a 78 Dodge Monaco Crestwood wagon with the same driveline and the same dash/tilt steering wheel. We had a AM/FM/CB chrysler radio in ours. Chrysler made a bunch of money on the Cordobas...very good selling cars in the first few years.

@@johneckert1365 For 1976, Chrysler introduced its Lean-Burn system in its intermediate- and full-size 400-cu in four-barrel V-8s. An early computerized spark-advance control system, Lean-Burn attempted to make the engine cleaner from within, rather than simply bolting on cleaners (like catalytic converters) after the fact.

That was a mid-size car in its day. In the first TV commercials it was billed as "The New Small Chrysler". I don't like the loud exhaust. But that's okay. It's a cool car otherwise. When I was young we had a 1975 Town & Country. I really miss that car.

back in late 80`s around 1988 i bought a 1980 Cordoba , i got it for $300 and it had about 46,000 miles on it. it had the 318 2 bbl carb. i literally drove that car into its grave LOL. i never really had any problems with that car . other than thermostat went out on me and also had to swap out the alternator, just normal stuff. i used it for my everyday getting around car and going to high school, i didnt want people screwing up my 1977 Camaro Z-28 i had just restored back then. but in all honesty the 70`s Cordoba`s were better in my opinion

I know most stay original and I get that, but if I am going to drive a classic like that its for the ride and look of the old car. I would upgrade the brakes to Brimbo to improve the stopping power s I hate the way they feel braking. I would also do an engine fuel injection conversion or swap the engine for a modern 6.4l Hemi because having all that power to push all that weight around would be sweet!

Really the power steering pumps size is not the issue. It is all in the steering box.
@ThordysGarage3 жыл бұрын
Your absolutely right, I was sorta saying it as a goof, it goes back to when I got my 72 Matador and I the first time I opened the hood the steering pump was RIGHT THERE and at the time I thought “wow that thing is huge”, I know now the smooth steering is cuz of the box but it was one of those moments that sticks with ya when you first get a car. I think about it every time I drive a big boat like this Cordoba. the Wagon is due for steering box, not looking forward to that job…
