A Lyft Driver Refused To Give A Ride To This Lady Because Of Her Weight.

This is a tough subject but it needs to be talked about. So this lady ordered a Lyft and the driver refused to let her into his car because of her weight. And if you look at this woman then you might think he has a point, because she is very, very, very, very, very, very voluptuous. I think she filed a complaint but it's like some of y'all voluptuous people act like you don't know how large you are. It's happened to me on airlines before where the person sitting next to me has their body in both of our seats. I honestly believe on planes that you should have to buy 2 seats. The problem is if we continue to let people like this do whatever they want, then we're enabling them to continue bad habits and it's truly dangerous. Maybe we need these things to happen in order for them to change. You know you have a problem when a company named "Lyft" refuses you a ride. #Lyft #Overweight #Comedy

She probably reported him, though. I have been a rideshare driver before. The customer can just report you about any little thing, and Lyft is forced to take aside. They generally take the passengers side because it’s all about money with them. They don’t want any horror stories from passengers out there on the Internet. You really have to stand your ground as a driver. This is why I had a camera in my car.

I am a 350lb woman. I aint bragging, it is what it is. I purchase TWO seats for the plane Once I Hadn't used uber in a while and wrongfully thought UberX was a LARGE vehicle. I was surprised 😮to see such a SMALL car show up🤦🤦🤦 I figured it out quick on the return ride ordered for home and ordered an SUV...but geez louise. That struggle is real. Sis probably didn't know then was embarrassed about the rejection. But just cancel the ride and wait another 5 minutes for the appropriate sized vehicle.

Well at least you're realistic about your needs and not expecting some extra level of accomodations. As a 6'1" woman, I've been 180 lbs, then went up to 250 lbs. Went back down to 210 lbs. My heaviest weight ever was 360 lbs when I was 24. I got down to 240 that following year and haven't let myself get that big again. Now at 40, I'm 190 and technically in the best physical shape of my life because I eat very clean, workout everyday, no alcohol or cigs, and sleep 7-8 hours most nights of the week. So I'm not judging at all because hey, a sista has been there! I feel empathy for this woman in this situation Godfrey is speaking on, but I know at my heaviest of 360 lbs, my black ass would've been to embarrassed to share her story with the world. So at least she has some audacity to speak up about her experience. I never experienced fat shaming to my face when I was big but I'm sure folks sneered and giggled when I was big AF but I've kinda always had thick skin in most social situations due to a crazy sense of humor and being adaptable. I'm trying to be respectful, but the fact that the Lyft driver ended up getting fired is insane. At its very core, this is a safety issue. If you see the original video, the car is a mid-size sedan (at best). So, if you're being honest, you have to ask real questions. Does she fit in the back seat? No. Can she use the seat belt properly? No. Can she quickly and safely exit the vehicle in the case of an emergency (think engine fire)? No. Then the answer is NO she can't get in the car. What if, heaven forbid, they got into an accident? Her being crammed in there like a sardine with no seat belt is going to fall on him. Sorry, ma'am, but you're going to need to request another, larger vehicle for your safety and his. These services offer XL vehicles for a reason and this in one of them. Pay the extra money and keep it moving.
