I put gutter guards on last year, the same thing is under mine, but when I bought them, the guy told me once a year to run my hose in it to get the small sand and tiny sand like debris from the roof out down the drain pipes...

You better have a nail puller if you expect to slide those plastic snap-ins under the nailed-down shingles... Be prepared to replace several dozen shingles or more during the installation. Don't waste your money or time with the Huxley or Amerimax plastic gutter snap-in screens... They do not work ... After a few hours if you manage to get one or two installed, the plastic will crack and fall apart from the sun rays in just a few years ... (Oakland Home Inspections LLC) Metal gutter guards are the only ones that work and fit, and do not crack or fall apart ...

Good to know re: the gutter guards. Here in the N.E., I'm not sure any kind of gutter guard is a good idea because of our greater amount of snow/ice. Oh well, cleaning gutters is just a part of my life. Curious to hear about your roof resolution.

Leaf Filter mesh clogs up, I like this design actually better.

You are a champ Kev, over-pouring the gutter was my main concern as we have a standing seam metal roof & there is a LOT of flow during a good rain here in middle TN. Your 2 review videos on A-Ms product really helped. I won't be wasting any time with leaffilter, their cloak & dagger marketing strategy reminds me too much of anderson windows... they don't want to just tell you how much, they just want to impose upon you to offer time for their sales pitch. A-M is a GREAT value & juuuust fine for the job.

Thanks for this Kev. Glad to see you still around doing videos

You will get some small grit with all gutter guards. With Leaf Filter the grit can clog your product.

Super report. You are good at this.

If you get leaf filter all that roof residue will be caked on the screen and blocking flow. Check out leaf filter reviews

Kev. That looks pretty good. If you don't clean it out every once in awhile it will turn to soil and start growing stuff. As you mentioned 😅

I'm considering these myself. Thanks for the videos. I hears bees and birds can get in Leaf filter. You might want to check that out.

I think you’re confusing LeafFilter with LeafGuard. LeadGuard had a large opening that allows birds and bees/wasps to build in. LeafFilter is fully sealed, so only water can get in

I would never install nor recommend anyone install ANY guard that goes under the shingle. Many shingle mfgs void warranties if a guard is slid under the starter shingles. They are designed to not be disturbed.

And with leaf filter you’re paying thousands of dollars more

True. If someone can periodically maintenance these they are a good choice for not much money
