Good morning from Alabama. I woke up feeling very much like a grandma this morning. My two youngest grands spent the night last night...lol I lit the oil lamp, stoked the fire, and made coffee. No, I am not off grid, I just try not to use more than I need. I watched the sun come up and enjoyed the quiet that I knew would end soon. I'm not complaining at all, I enjoy every second of the life they bring to this old place. I sat and thought about my life and the things I am passing on to them. This place, how to garden, to preserve food, medicinal herbs and how to use them. Then I get online and there is this wonderful new video. When people ask me, I can't really explain why I am on this path. It's more of a calling, passed down through the generations. A calling that I would play with a bit and then take off in another direction. I bounced back and forth but I never knew what it was like to be satisfied and happy within. I guess maybe I was running. Although it was my dream, no one else shared it. In my fifties I stopped running. I bought my place and took a medicinal herb course. I am happy, content, and feel that I am living the life that I was meant to live. Being able to help others is just a plus. It is my calling.....Be blessed....

I learnt of my Great Aunt May. She gave me basil tea for period pain when I was about 12 and it was delicious and worked to alleviate the symptoms. She taught me how and when to harvest, dry, make syrups, salves and tinctures from the plants in her garden and surrounding area. My garden may look like weeds to other people but to me they are mother natures gift. I am still learning and have learnt a lot from you. Thank you Terri

It was 54F (12C) here on the plains of Colorado. It was great to get out and plant two dormant Hawthorns and two dormant Service Berry trees. My oasis is slowly being realized. (I should really post my progress one of these days) The journey along my personal path is bringing me more happiness and inner peace day by day. When I found an antler shed in my herb garden 'construction zone', I know Freyr gave me a sign and I feel his presence. My eyes are now wide open and I witness how he has graced the property with bountiful signs of progress, success and fertility. Stay warm my friend while all those wonderful seeds stratify in the cold and yern to burst open and make you smile. Now, off to start my onion seeds indoors.

This sounds like how I started my path, I have learnt about herbs through books and I did do a distance course, unfortunately I couldn't find any wise women or men but It won't stop me learning more, I am also a Reiki Master and I work with crystals too. I am a child of nature I hate being stuck in doors. I have recently had covid and even then I had to have the bedroom window open I just needed to feel the air on my face and breath it in this air was sometimes freezing cold but I knew it wouldn't harm me but do me good, I am recovering slowly from this nasty virus and of course herbs and good diet are included in my recovery plan, even so it feels a very slow process, which is I know how it is meant to be for me. Just watching this video today has made me feel invigorated. I love your wisdom and the way you share it with us. Blessed Be Terri

Thank you for sharing this, you are so right it is big pharmaceuticals that fund research and they are not interested in food as medicine as there is no scope to make profit from whole foods and herbs that grow naturally and that help us heal in an holistic way. I’m not anti science and appreciate the huge benefit western medicine has given us, my grandson’s life was saved by antibiotics when he got meningitis but we mustn’t lose sight of the wisdom and knowledge of our ancestors either, science has also given us some awful “convenience foods” although I shudder to call them food!! ❤️

Yes, we need more balance in health care and in society!
@joanneadahk1242 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! And they certainly don't mind asking you to join a experiment that will grow their profits. Even though so many here in the USA cannot afford the medicine they make. Or the insurance to provide it. The system needs turned on its ear. We are more important than $$¡I don't know what would help there. But here we gave the ability to corporations to vote and contribute with their money to members of the government. Sadly both parties.. :(... such a bad plan. So they have effectively turned us into cash cows. Better yet. As congress members they get full insurance and retirement along with a quarter million a year... while we go broke FUNDING them. There has to be a way to petition the situation for the better. I am hopeful that the different places on Earth are not getting treated the same. I also wish that the gov. Here would have told the pharma industry three years ago that they would JUST HAVE TO DEAL with it and give the patent for the vaccine to the world. We the citizens paid for the research. Through the NIH. We have been studying disease like this for 20+yrs. Now they are making BILLIONS while the majority of the world is left out. Makes most of us infuriated. We should be able to do that much with our investment. Anyway. So glad you are here Terry. Hope you have a good day! 🍀🌼🌞we will get through this.

Good Morning, Terry! I do very much agree that herbalism does not need to be defended. She can stand extremely well on her own, thank you very much! Of course, I've had teachers along the way, but not in the traditional way. 18 months ago I had a horrible wake up call when I learnt through researching how Rockefeller stopped natural medicine being taught to trainee doctors around the world so he could push his pharmaceuticals . He payed the universities and then gave them a new curriculum that only allowed drugs not natural medicines to be taught (so as to unify the teaching was his sneaky way of explaining it). I was horrified, but it made so much sense as to how now doctors only ever prescribe a drug. It made very sad but then I decided to learn about herbs to empower myself. I think that might of been how I came across you actually.

Oh my, the start of your video brought me to tears. My almost 94 year old mother passed yesterday and like you she was a Virgo. She always wanted to be a doctor when she was younger but her family in Holland was poor and at 12 she had to quit school and go into service. She immigrated to Canada in 1952 with my dad and us children and worked hard with her hands her whole life. She was the most amazing gardener like you. She was not a free spirit with her garden and it all had to be perfect but her place was abundant with flowers, vegetables and fruit trees. Haha "one wise man". Thanks for sharing your Path story.

Thank you Terri for sharing your story with us, for showing us your beautiful garden and for another great educational, informative, helpful video. Always a joy watching your videos. It’s so interesting how we get into loving nature and it’s wonders as we get older, wiser. Some of us anyway. I was born and bred in a communist city, spent my childhood in a city centre, always being jealous on my friends who had grandparents in the countryside and spent their holidays in the countryside, being in nature with their animals, having a wonderful time. I had my grandparents living in a house, with garden, a few chickens, turkeys, a pig or two, but it was still in the city. Now, living here for over 20years, in the countryside, growing our own vegetables, having a few animals, it’s just so wonderful, it feels so normal. I absolutely detest cities, towns, hence I don’t go anywhere. I love my home. So, yes, I chose my own magical path over20 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. Thank you Terri for reminding us how wonderful nature is, how much we need to respect it for everything that it’s giving us. ❤️

Thank you for sharing. Your story and the telling of it are lovely. I am so thankful and grateful to the plants for the wisdom, friendship, and healing they offer. Peas are going in the ground Monday, as are other seeds indoors for later transfer. I grew up in a national forest with a lineage of granny women healers and I'm just now figuring out how that will play out in my gifts and offerings, but the plant medicine has always been a big part. Blessings on you and yours from Kentucky, USA. I love your videos, your pups, the music, the land there, all of it. xoxo

I just heard that! About time, especially as the Church has downgraded her and she is not a saint anymore. But she is our Goddess! You are lucky to be away with the fairies, it's a pity more people aren't.

That was really enjoyable. Your knowledge of the subject(s) is so valuable. Thanks for sharing with us here. After studying and practicing herbal medicine for the past fifty years I completely agree with you. For me plants, herbs and natural medicine are an everyday part of my life. I feel connected to nature and I know nature is connected to me. I'm one of those folk that eats to live which suits me fine. Nice to see some seeds going into the soil. Here there is still a hefty snowpack on the ground. I'm hoping that by the end of March I'll be back out in my garden putzing around at things. Cheers and best wishes!

I made sure I had my hot coffee in hand, settled in a comfy chair after breakfast and I really enjoyed watching your video (as usual!). Lovely snippets of views and please tell me what kind of moth that was in the cocoon? I love learning about moths and butterflies, and I loved seeing him have a little wiggle in there! I was surprised when you said Virgos lots of times become healers, I never heard that but I am a Virgo and a Reiki Master and love learning about healing herbs and follow a strictly plant based diet. I don't really 'do' healing with my Reiki but feel it's just a part of me when I create as an artist, gardener, mother, wife, baker etc. I'm starting to do videos too about settling into our new place in the Scottish Borders and am showing how the garden changes over the season and all the work we're doing in it. I want to share more of my art there too, when I get time! Cheers to you both!

I felt like you spoke right to me as usual lol. I'm also a Virgo, (and a twin.) So I felt the description of connectedness. And gosh you said it as regards defending/comparing herbalism to modern science; just follow the money. I have had such success studying herbalism- and not for profit, just to learn and benefit from it- folks have started to come to me for help with enormous success. And that's all I ask from my land. Thanks so much for speaking plainly in this world where no one is allowed to have a valid reality. From one Irish (descended) Virgo, you're the best!

You speak my truth! I wish I had gotten started earlier…. I was in my late 40’s and only did so minimally between work, home life and kids etc… …but I’ve always believed in it and nature’s power and drawn to its surroundings…. I took a Rosalee de la Foret herbal course years ago…still trying to absorb all that! Lol…just a so much to learn! Dabbled with salves and tinctures etc… and I always feel so fulfilled intuitively…like I know I’m doing something right…

I like when science proves that there are useful chemicals in herbs, but ofcourse what you are so rightly saying is that most of the time empirical evidence is enough. I am all for using when nature provides for us unadulterated. Thank you for that video. It would be very good if modern medicine and herbal medicine could cooperate instead of compete.

Thank you so much! I have the opportunity to redo some of your older material while driving around to put my lovely and precocious toddler to sleep. She's always so excited when she wakes up and here's your theme music and cries "It's Terri, Mommy! She tells us about plants!!" Your videos are huge blessing in our lives! Perhaps you covered this already and I just haven't been able to watch it yet, but have you done a video on traditional or herbal medicine an illness prevention for pets? I ask this as my current nine-year-old feline companion is at the Vets for a possible urinary tract infection which she seems to get often. Any case, thank you again for all the beautiful work you're doing, and brightest blessings in all the days ahead!
