While in Nice, France we found a great local barbershop owned by Annick Laborde. Annick acquired this shop location 35-years ago. It had been a men’s hairdresser for 60 years, but Annick decided to transform the shop into a men's traditional barbershop.
“I wanted to create a place with a soul in the barber tradition, with wooden elements, comfy vintage barber chair, jazz music, a place where I can give the best of myself." -Annick Laborde
Annick says her “vision of this very beautiful job combines know-how and also a very enriching human approach.” She adds, "I am lucky to have an international clientele from all backgrounds. Each day is a different story I love to live.” ❤️ Annick plans to retire in a few years, and her hope is finding someone who shares her vision and will continue building upon the history of this barbershop.

I havent been to Marseille since I was 15 and im in my mid 40s now. Ive fond memories of there and other places like Carcassonne, Grass and Nice. Thanks for jogging my memory Harry.

My family whose traveled then and now say it's sadly very different than just 30 years ago...different people, different culture, not as safe. The days of being a gullible American tourist and backpacking through the French countryside are long gone. I remember hearing stories about how the elderly women in France during postwar years of the 50's and even 60's would be very welcoming toward American men...then somewhere along the way the perception changed and the French people no longer had the same view of Americans. Even still, it was a beautiful country and very safe to travel through even right up to the 90's. I wish I could have been alive to explore Europe in it's glory days.

Point de franchouillardise, regardons les choses telles qu'elles sont : cette vidéo comme celle de Paris fait peine à voir. Session très vite faite, le strict minimum,pas de lotion, de crème, une seule petite serviette chaude vite passée...y'a pas à dire on ne sait juste pas faire ce genre de chose en France. On sait en faire d'autre... Mais pas ça.

@@gregft1979 après je pense que ça dépends vraiment de l'enseigne, les grosses villes sont plus la pour le pognon des touristes, mais dans des petites villes où village il y a de bon barbier, du moins chez moi dans le sud ouest il y en quelques uns !! Disons qu'au moins ici elle a pris la peine d'utiliser un rasoir, après entre nous les 1000 serviettes sont aussi un prétexte à forcer la note parce qu'en soit la peau est vite prête au rasage, mais c'est sur que c'est plus ''agréable'' le moment détente !!
